So I have setup my 75 gallon with sump approximately 60-70 pounds Marco rock and 80 pounds live sand. Dr Tim’s ammonium says 4 drops per gallon to get to 2-3 ppm not to exceed 5 ppm. I did this and checked after about an hour with pumps running. It was at .5 ppm anyways I put enough for 100 gallons and it only ever got to 1ppm. Am I doing something wrong?

Maybe overthinking the process.
Rock, saltwater, flow, heat, bacteria, +4 days to be safe, in go first fish.
Hobby tests for ammonia are not accurate.

Okay just thinking I was overlooking something. But the test not being accurate is probably the most accurate statement lol

There have been other folks not obtaining the expected ammonia level by adding the recommended drops. So now you know how many drops gives you 1 ppm. By the way, ammonia was not likely to be consumed in one hour.
