So my parameters

Salinity 35

Nitrates 9.7

Phosphates .49

Alkalinity 9.0

Calcium 460

Magnesium 1460

So things are a bit off but not enough I think for the torch to go poof. But who knows....

Water change and changed my carbon and threw a bit of GFO in it.
I'd say your parameters are pretty good actually.

Normally I try to keep them
Alkalinity 8.3-8.6
Nitrates 15-20
Phosphates .15-.2

So not far off considering the lack of attention I've given my tank lately

Definitely no "oh poop!" moment

Probably just a random POOF moment, or so I hope.

Ok, so hadn't updated since getting home from Hawaii. Not a great update but a hopeful update...

While I was gone I got some nasties pop up. It killed several of the Birdsnest frags and a couple of spots in the colony. I'm fairly certain that it's Dinos.

Also my Gonis are likely all goners - yes, even the Care Bears...

Anyways, I sucked a ton of the junk out and am doing a water change. I'm giving it some MB7 and Live Nitrifying Bacteria. I'm going to probably do a black out starting tomorrow if it doesn't start looking better.

Unfortunately I think my phosphates bottomed out while I was on vacation. I really need to move the doser over from the old tank I just haven't figured out where I'm going to put it yet.
Awww, dammitt. That is so wrong on so many lvls Tim!

Wish I could fix it for you - but hope you find a silver lining in what did survive

I should say, everything else is looking good. I think we gained several more polyps on the Strats and the Duncans, I think there's a new baby or two on the Winter Soldier Bower and the Reverse Prism Favia, the Alveoporas are color morphing to a lot brighter coloration and fluffy, the Mojave Desert Rhodactis has fully healed and is open more than it ever has been since being added to the tank, and the Pink Cadillac is starting to regrow. The RTA Birdsnest and Bubblegum Digitata seem to be the only things affected by the junk.
Hah - the silver lining! I read in order so my post is genuine

It’s perfect for our Smorgasbord thread Taco Tuesday!

I'm late:

I liked my filefish personally. I haven't been able to find another one since I passed him along after my Aiptasia were gone.

@danieyella you had good luck with yours for a while also, right?
Yes - but never long term. Something always goes wrong. Either they start nipping at something else.... I receive them huge and towards the end of their life.... etc. I had one who was amazing but randomly jumped :loudly-crying-face: Every time the file goes, the aiptasia comes back. I've never had luck w/ cbbs, survival rate at arrival has been horrible to start. Today I have a stripey arriving and I'm hopeful this is a better solution.
They used bubble wrap to send fish in the middle of summer instead of using an insulated box and they don't refund the shipping or box fees even though nothing arrived alive. First and last fish order from Live Aquaria. Oh well.
This..... This has been my experience beginning this year. Every delivery has been this way. I've ordered 3x this year and never had success because of their new packing style. Once they overdid it with ice packs, no insulation but bubble wrap in a sloppy cardboard box - the other two times I'm pretty sure the fish baked because the boxes were so hot. I will not order fish from them again, it's not worth it for the fish.
24 years I suppose.
This year is when the changes in packing seemed to start. I wasn't able to determine if it was all facilities or just select.... definitely divers den - which is unfortunate because I used to have a lot of success with fish there.

Man, it's crazy what a little nudge will do. They offered to reship and waive the box and shipping fees. I just don't know if I should. If I order today before midnight it ships tomorrow and I work from home Thursday but the bags were cold - pretty sure the fish froze to death from the ice packs they added. Do I risk ordering more fish or take the partial refund and buy dry goods?
Very late to discussion- Take the partial refund.. who knows what else is wrong with them other then shipping - they aren’t concerned about husbandry practices- cause it looks like they don’t have any.

24 years I suppose.
Lots of mediocre and poor quality companies around in every industry. I’m always surprised that people weigh that so strongly when other negative factors are clearly showing.

I’m not calling out this vendor at all as I have no experience with them. But based on experience with you, I’d skip.

Like I said, we've got this!

2 day black out with UV installed. Nothing new is dead. Tissue necrosis appears to have stopped. I'm hopeful we'll have some healing start. UV still running, MB7 and Nitrifying Bacteria still being dosed, filter floss still hanging in tank. I'll give it a week or so like this and if everything looks good I'll move the UV to the sump and remove the filter floss.

Still running carbon, but I'm going to replace it this evening.
This is my very first time as a complete newbie suggesting treatment to this group of veterans, but it’s another way to learn and start to be helpful to the community that helps me:

would you consider a bit of Lugols’ Iodine at this point for tissue healing?

That's the thing with Diver's Den though, it's WYSIWYG fish and coral.
