It costs us a slice or two of American cheese or a bag of freeze dried shrimp.

Please, we've got lots of little lakes around.
Seriously though, y'all got crawfish? I would imagine it being too dry there in general. That Peoria to Surprise stretch had me taking breaks due to dizziness from dehydration, and I chug water constantly.

Side note, I can't remember if I asked before, but do you play disc golf? I brought some discs and played while I was there since I had a three week stent and a day or two off. The two courses that I remember are one that played up and down the side of a small mountain, and another that had olive trees scattered around the course. (Just googled them and they're Buffalo Ridge and Los Olivos. Buffalo Ridge was one of my favorite courses that I've ever played.)

Yes and yes.

Arizona has a bunch of man-made lakes for reservoirs. We have large mouth bass, small mouth bass, white bass, and striped bass. We have Crappie (white and black), rock bass, and 3 types of catfish. Up north we have walleye, northern pike, and trout in addition to the bass. Crayfish (crawdads) came in on the Colorado River on accident and have invaded most of our lakes. We also Zebra and Quagga mussels.

Actually funny, 5 second before I started reading this post my son says "Mom, can we bring the disc golf stuff with us?" I've never played either course you played but I believe Buffalo Ridge is the one that eats discs.

GAME REMINDER
OCEAN HANGMAN

title gif.gif

There are lots of critters in the ocean, but I only need a handful for this game! I will post the name of a sea creature every hour at the top of the hour. However, some of the letters are missing. The first person to fill in the blanks gets a point. After ten rounds, the person with the most points wins a LIMITED EDITION ZOANTHIDS.COM 20TH ANNIVERSARY T-SHIRT!!!

In the event of a tie, the person that scored first wins. Good luck!

I bet y'all have some decent sized largemouth. They only grow when it's warm, which is why Texas and Mexico have some monsters. I'm actually trying to make the time to go rip some lips with my brother this evening!

Haha yeah, Buffalo Ridge is brutal on discs. Jagged rocks all over the place, and playing the course is a workout. However, the elevation makes it very interesting, plus there's one hole at the top where you drive down the hill/mountain. It makes you feel like an Olympic athlete throwing a disc off a cliff! It just saaaaaiiiiilllllssssss haha

I got a 10 pound, 2 foot largemouth in my town pond, where they don't stock

Also, yeah we have about the same fish as y'all minus walleye and everything you said after it. Lots of blugills too, plus we have the Guadalupe Bass, which is a unique species that only lives in the Hill Country! They're like a cool hybrid between a largemouth and a bluegill. They don't get that big but they're fun to catch and pretty.
