I definitely am. It is going to coincide with a remodel on the first story. He needs to hang tight for another 18-24 months :grimacing-face::rolleyes:
Love to see some more photos of the big guy, and anyone reading this please share emp pics and hints.

Bought him in 2010 something like 2 inches big. Pic below is from 2011 and he just started to change colour.

Reef tank 5.JPG

He is still going strong and is of course speaking loudly whenever he is hungry or dissapointed about something. He likes pellets but also from time to time we swap a stone from the sump full of sponges to keep him happy. He will nip corals if he gets to hungry but surgeon fish does the same.
Today he is about 10 inches.

I think he is photobombing most of this video (video in swedish...)

Brutus as a child.... I purchased at about 2" and had him until he was 7 - 8". I sold him because I wanted to keep clams.. As he/she matured it became a paly eating machine... Even when young, it had a thing for orange anything, acans, palys, zoazs, anemones.. anything orange. Very cool fish!

I think you are referring to the lobos? I have had a couple acanthophyllia.. but they ended up getting damaged from a lemon angle... I hated that fish.... beautiful... but the second worse mistake I have made in my 38 years of reefing. As it matured, it distroyed many of my favorite acros...

:) Let’s start an Emperor thread!!! :p

Share a profile of your pomacanthus imperator.

Photos and your experiences:
How long have you had it? What are its favorite coral snacks? Any corals it ignores? Fun stories? Did you Qt?
Concerns? Did you name it?

I am hoping this thread will help us learn more about this awesome fish and give them the best care we can.
His best friend is my female clownfish, they swim the length of the tank together side by side

@derik That is awesome! Would you share details on the feeding device? Looks cool.
it was a leftover piece of 1 1/4 pvc from when I did the plumbing on my tank and just a hair roller,i have it tied to the wier of the over flow,I just lift it out and put a piece of nori in it once a day, tried every nori clip known to man and it just all made a mess or was a pain, there no water drip down the glass now lol
Million dollar idea right there
