Gorgeous man, I’m honestly thinking of keeping the bonsai left side of my tank for torches and hammers. Planning on maybe leaving the right side and arch for acros. Any thoughts?I just got a Torch as well from Reefapalooza

I actually have the right side planned for a large Euphyllia garden, and above that a Torch Garden, so I think it’s a good idea for you to try to make some gardens!Gorgeous man, I’m honestly thinking of keeping the bonsai left side of my tank for torches and hammers. Send pics!! Euphyllia meaning what exactly, torches in their own area?I actually have the right side planned for a large Euphyllia garden, and above that a Torch Garden, so I think it’s a good idea for you to try to make some gardens!
Euphyllia is the name that categorizes for the types of Frogspwan, Octospawn, Hammers, and Torch corals.Send pics!! Euphyllia meaning what exactly, torches in their own area?
Right, but is there a reason you’re doing torches completely seperate from the others?Euphyllia is the name that categorizes for the types of Frogspwan, Octospawn, Hammers, and Torch corals.
Take your time designing where something will go. If it helps, take a photo of your tank, then post it on “Pages” or “Word” and then find pictures of the corals you like, and place them on the different places of the photo of the tank you think will look nice but will also benefit the coral in terms of lighting and flowRed would be torches and green will be acros. Thoughts or anything I should take into consideration?
Torches have a much stronger sting than other Euphyllia, so a lot of the time the Torches can hurt the other Euphyllia. Not always, but something that’s relatively common. I’m not taking the chance so I’m putting them in a separate garden.Right, but is there a reason you’re doing torches completely seperate from the others?
Got it, I just got a par meter from Amazon, will return it in about two weeks after mapping out the tank.Torches have a much stronger sting than other Euphyllia, so a lot of the time the Torches can hurt the other Euphyllia. Agreed. Some people do it, and it’s fine, but I don’t like to risk things like that. Do you HAVE to do the WC tomorrow? If the parameters are “ok” then it should “be ok” for the next day or two. I’d add the fish and then do a WC the day or two after they were added, or do the WC some hours before the fish arrive,I plan on doing a 10% water change tomorrow. However, I also have the earmuff wrasse and blenny coming. Will it be too much stress on the fish to add them in and do a water change several hours after?
Nah just need to add some in due to coral dipping and I don’t want the level to drop too much.Agreed. Some people do it, and it’s fine, but I don’t like to risk things like that. Awesome work! Finally finished the aquascape!! Just waiting for lfs to get the new Red Sea pump I ordered so I can start the cycle and hook up the plumbing!
The tips of the some of the Marco rock get a bit close to the glass but I have about an inch at all of the closest points. I plan on rearranging some of the foundation rocks on the bottom to create zoa gardens. Any tips or pointers for the aquascape?
So not a WC you’re just adding some water. Should be fineNah just need to add some in due to coral dipping and I don’t want the level to drop too much.
Just got the new shipment in, the wrasse came in water that has this black chemical look and I think is dead unfortunately. Going to finish the float acclimation and then put the fish into a separate container to confirm before adding them in… fingers crossed.
Dr. Reef already responded and said he may be playing dead and to give him a couple hours. I’ll send some pics in a moment.
That’s not a Earmuff. That looks almost identical to a Kuiters Leopard
Yeah I was thinking that to. No wonder it didn’t do well. A very sensitive wrasse. That’s not an Earmuff. That looks almost identical to a Kuiters Leopard
