@Slingshot357 , send us a video of Dendra and Portia, at least 3 minutes. I need to see your flow in the tank. And tell us what stream pumps using, are they at 50% or 80% flow, what type, where you locate in tank, if any type of settings on controller, if that type of system . That info really good for all of us , if we have or plan your type of tank.

Screenshot_2020-01-01-10-23-16.png

I'll put something together tomorrow with the lights on.

For flow I actually don't have anything sophisticated. I have one Tunze 6055 on the right side glass center, pulsing about 50% strait over Dendra sort of deflecting off the water surface half way to Dendra making a lot of surface agitation and curling back down right on top of Dendra. Other than that I have a cheap as hell Freesea 1600gph AC wave pump ($28 on amazon) On the left side glass towards the back going 100% hitting the glass right in front of Portia. For return pump I have a Jebao 10000LPH DC pump running at 40% that hits along the surface across the back of the glass creating a slight whirlpool effect going clockwise.

No Gyres, no MP 40's, No pretty pulsating wave patterns, no fancy controllers, not even a random flow generator on my return.

My return pump, pump to canister filter , pump to chiller , for pond use. Got near new condition on Offer up at $20 each. All three 1200 gph each, except return pump, rest are controlled by pvc ball valve to reduce flow 50% maybe. But, reduced

Video should be interesting, make when you can, no hurry. Will be useful info, for all of us

I guess I'll never understand why people spend $300-$400 on one flow pump.

I only have a simple sump setup. It's a real mess. I was toying with the idea of setting up a manifold for the reactors but shrugged it off. I'm not trying to win any awards for neatness. And my cable management is just down right embarrassing. I have power strips plugged into power strips sometime 3 deep. LOL

@Slingshot357 , think about this, figure out, how to stop you feeding for 3 minutes. Then on for 3 minutes. I just started that and corals open up more. Plus it gives your filtration a small break. Also, 3 minute intervals shouldn't starve corals. Think about that

I don't think it's possible with my dosing pump. I just tell it how much to dose per day and select which hours up to 24 and it divides it up between those hours. So basically I have it set up now to dose 240ml a day and just select a check mark next to each hour (it's WiFi app based). Best I could do it use all 4 heads to dose every 15 minutes.

Try and see. It will help your filtration and corals will notice difference, they should love it

How much are you dosing every 3 minutes?

Filtration isn't much of a problem anymore once I fixed the Clarisea Flir. You can see it on the left in this pic. Always a fresh new sheet of 50 micron floss.

I'm good on Phyto now too. There's another gallon in another fridge.

That's what happens when you have 10X more ideas than time to implement and only 1/10th the space to implement them in. Not sure if you can see in the photo but I actually have started labeling all the cords and I do intend to straiten that all up eventual.

I'm not using a dosing pump, but approximately 1/5 of a ml. Actually takes 6 minutes to dose, then 3 minutes, it stops, then start again 6 min, Device isn't drip either, patent pending. It's never been made or used for reef keeping. One day I'll show it off....hahaha

Here is the video. Let me know if you need more focus just on Dendra and Portia. They aren’t fully awake yet.
