I watched the video and couldn't tell, does the canopy have a mounting system; or are you going to be building the whole thing?
Yep. Gonna have to install a mounting system. Trying to figure the best type of rail system for mounting these.Just saw your new thread on the light mounting
Now just to plan what fish you’ll getSo... something is happening...
So... something is happening...
This is making me want to get live rock now, hahaI'm a little behind on posting. I received my shipment of live rocks and sand last Monday from @LiverockRocks, and man! I'm impressed with the amount of life that came in with it!! So much great biodiversity! I ordered 40 lbs of base rock and 60 lbs of sand. Here were the results!
I also got LOTS of really cool hitchhikers! My kiddos had a blast searching through the bags long after the rock and sand had been removed hunting for more sea stars, snails, and crabs (and they found LOTS of them!). They spent over an hour finding more and more critters (and I just enjoyed helping them ID them and put them in the tank).
Here are a few of the specimens we found.
And we even got a mantis shrimp! Super cool little guy! He ended up going to a buddy who has a tank set up for him.
We also seem to have a pistol shrimp still in the rock somewhere because we hear him at night.
Get that pistol a goby!!I'm a little behind on posting. I received my shipment of live rocks and sand last Monday from @LiverockRocks, and man! Yep! That's the plan!Get that pistol a goby!!
Hopefully it’s the type that pairs
Ah, super fun! I as well was so intrigued by the hitchhikers on my live rock, my family and I watched for hours looking for new organisms. It's definitely one of my favorite parts of setting up a tank!I'm a little behind on posting. I received my shipment of live rocks and sand last Monday from @LiverockRocks, and man! Looking good!Update! Lights are mounted!! I used 10 series t-slot for the light rails. I'll make another thread to show the materials and explain the whole system, but here are some of the pictures from when we were testing the mounting in the garage (we figured that was safer than testing the mounting system over the tank ).
And here it is mounted over the tank (ignore the cables...cable management is something that's still on the "to do" list).
The progress you’ve got now is impressive!Update! Lights are mounted!! I used 10 series t-slot for the light rails.
