Good afternoon,

I have a group of Springeri in 220g, this springeri is the smallest. There was never any fighting for a long but I didn’t notice a bit of chasing last night between the bigger one and this one. I woke up to this eye issue on the smaller one. I am thinking it’s damage from fighting? What is the best course of action here? Treatment?

Second pic is the normal eye. The one that’s damaged looks like it’s sticking out slightly and white.

I am working on getting one of the 2 fighting out if not both if I have to treat this eye.

This may have stemmed from eye injury as they often dart into crevices. You can keep an eye on it and see if it subsides in 48 hours or treat in a separate tank using maracyn for 5 days.

I don’t have that on hand, I do have kanaplex, does that not work?

If you are seeing chasing, this is almost 100% from an eye injury. It doesn’t look infected to me, but I do think you’ll need to separate these fish to avoid continued issues.
