Wrong! This makes no sense when we pay for the shipping.
What cost? We pay that cost.
We still should be given a choice in carrier.
Im sure some of us would pay the additional cost to have a choice in carrier.
WOW.. i think you missed the first 3 pages of the entire thread.
I think they have $100 min order to ship tho.I would order a 5 or 10$ zoa frag, get the replacements for free and pay sh
I said like four times they didn’t chain the plane to the ground. They didn’t cause the shipping delay. It’s a rough spot for them too. I got a resolution from them that I was happy with. Says so in my vendor thread. LolWrong!
When people started to post that this was Aqua SDs fault, and that they owe people stuff for free
I skipped over all the rest of the posts, I missed those. So you're wrong
This is a good point. A sealed, delayed bag has excess CO2 in it still and thus a lower pH. Opening it -> off gassing CO2 -> pH spike -> ammonia becomes a big problem again. When livestock is delayed for long periods the chemistry in the bags is impacted. Do NOT give up hope even in a murky bag. It is best to get the coral out of the bag water as soon as possible. If there is tissue off the corals you have a problem and I would place a DOA claim.
This is what you can do with extreme caution
If you have a CO2 tank... Check the PH in the bags and fill a container with tank water then drop the PH to the level in the bag. Make sure you have reached a stable PH matching the bag water by adjusting the CO2 rate. Place the corals into the container then back off on the CO2 a little at a time and bring it to your tank's ph. In wholesale operations we would drop the levels in entire isolated systems. Acclamation of fish is done using the CO2 or chemically reducing PH.
Be careful and good luck
They will hold onto your order for 2 weeksIf anything, as a business I would straight up refuse to ship thursday/friday
It shouldn't matter since it's next day shipping but a lot of the time its something that is caused by the weekend
less traffic on weekends means less operators and less operators means them getting delayed has a much larger impact
Credit or not the order would have 100$ plus in corals. It shouldn’t matter how you pay.I think they have $100 min order to ship tho.

I have a planted tank with CO2 downstairs, so I'll have to try to remember this next time stuff looks a bit hairy with a shipment.
I’m glad they came around and offered the refund in the end. Definitely best case scenario.Credit or not the order would have 100$ plus in corals. It shouldn’t matter how you pay.
Tbh If I had to spend 100 on new corals + sh just to get my replacement items I would be upset also.
I’ve made a lot of posts about industry norms. This would be outside the norm and putting stipulations on how to get the credit. I would take the refund deal instead and my business elsewhere

I've noticed a popular CUC vendor in recent years has modified their shipping terms regarding USPS priority vs UPS overnight, as well as not shipping to certain areas during extreme temperatures. If anything, as a business I would straight up refuse to ship thursday/friday

So I’m glad the OP got to an adequate resolution.
I agree with this, as long as the order is $100 plus shipping, the payment type shouldn’t matter.
@AquaSD is there any chance for some clarification on this? As long as the order is $100 before credits, then they should be good correct?
Just so y'all know as a vendor, you should be able to get restitution for at least shipping since the overnight delivery falls under a guarantee with UPS, so they should refund you for the shipping cost. I know we all pay a flat rate, but generally it's more expensive then that.Yes, you're right, the plane not taking off on time didn't make the box wet. Probably UPS putting heavy items on top of it/crushing it that caused that to happen.
Yes, you're also right, we did pay UPS to perform a service, and they failed to perform the service.

FedEx is worse, esp. if it's going through Portland, OR hub. This is not true. Ive never had an issue with fedex and the companies that use them have never had an issue. UPS on the other hand always has an issue with something. And just so you know when customers talk to UPS they blame the seller and tell customers its all up to the seller (as far as being held at a location, delays, ect). I wish companies would use feedback from people and quit defending UPS when there is one issue after another.
