Tank is over 2.5 years old, and just now starting to show coralline algae, but noticing that they are disappearing after awhile - I know certain inverts such as urchins would consume them, and I don't have one in this tank.

I'm curious what this means - what exactly does such an algae need to grow? My Ca is always around 435ppm, Mg at 1400 and dkh: 8.2, so I got that on autopilot. Lights are LED based.

SG? And mag?
Is it turning white or just gone?
SG is always at about 1.025 and Magnesium is 1400's. It doesn't turn white, it just gets smaller and smaller until it's completely gone.

Very weird, I thought this type of algae grows fast - I know some might wished they didn't have coralline, but I don't mind.

That's me, constantly scraping it off. Such a PITA!
