Some of you might have read my other post about a quarantine tank setup, but I've been thinking to have a tank for that purpose and as well to have corals only - in other words, NO fish period. If I do get fish for my other 2 tanks, my thought was to use this tank as the quarantine - I can even use it to observe new corals as well before moving them to the display tank.

Having lights to keep the corals will also require a clean up crew at some capacity to combat any algae. I would feed the CUC with pellets, or whatever so they won't starve of course.

So in summary, a coral only tank (probably all soft corals - Ie. Zoanthid garden).

What are your thoughts on this, and any maintenance I should be concern about before embarking on this idea.

Thanks

Just be ready to dose nitrates and phosphates. You will need some addition of nutrients. Besides your inverts you will not have any waste being produced.

I 99.95% of the time keep only coral,no fish and have always struggled to keep nutrients up. This practice is not rare or ingenuis, just go to the nano section. Its been done 1000000000x of times.
