I think some action is needed, however, I don't see a clear treatment for you to try....sorry! In a pinch, you could try a 5 minute FW dip (in case this is flukes) but that can prove fatal to a weakened fish.
I do wanna try something… should I pull her out and stick her into a specimen container? And are you saying if I dip it could kill her? No clear treatment… I’m tempted to just get her out put her in a container and get a good video.

Update.
@Jay Hemdal the beauty has recovered some. Less pale and she was up at the top of the tank today fine. But as I walked in she sank to the bottom on her own. She did not eat but better. What could this mean? And plus I got a way better video. What do you think?

@Jay Hemdal bad news. Looks like swim bladder disease not sure if there is a fix sadley. Look at this video she can’t swim regularly it looks like however she was swimming upright when I first walked into the room. Not sure

Sorry, I was out this afternoon and just got home.

The dip I was suggesting was just a standard 5 minute freshwater dip, just in case this was flukes.

However, in these two videos, the fish seems REALLY fat, all through its body. This is called edema and is a sign of kidney or liver failure. Just like with people, there isn’t any cure for these two organs when they become damaged….sorry.

That sucks. I bought it fat who would’ve known. Doing a water change now. Jay any recommendations for after this death? Tank is 65 gallons I’m getting my LFS to get me a flame angel new baby one. However before I get it I want to try and get my nitrates down doing 15 gallons now. If it was fat for its whole life does that mean it might not be edema and should I dip it in ruby rally? Edema is incurable sadely thank you for being here.

You’ve only had it a few weeks, right? Edema can persist for weeks to a month or so, but typically is fatal within that time frame. I don’t think this is just “fat from overeating”.

3 months. Was in the persons tank for 2 years. If it’s edema I will accept its fate. It’s been perfectly healthy :(. She’s moving around now. All around the tank not sure why. Going from corner to corner relatively staying low can’t get upright.

Figured I’d post this last video might wanna turn your brightness all the way up. In the middle of pouring water into the tank she’s doing this last hurrah? Dark video by the way brightness up.

Sorry - no video was linked.

That's not a good sign. Could there be another fish in the tank causing it to hide like that?

Nitrates alone would not be a problem.

How was it behaving at the store before you bought it? This is one species that I won't buy unless I see it eat at the store.....

Interesting. And this is why I like forums. One od my fish is going to be a CB. What do you think about vendors that QT fish prior to sale. I want to go this route with as many fish as I can. I'm more than willing to pay the extra cash. Would you consider this an exception to you're rule? I WILL have a QT, but I don't want to consistently mess with the Quarantine procedure.

If the CB was properly quarantined (30+ days) that reduces the chances of getting one that is going to die from cyanide poisoning or maladaptation. To make it through 30+ days, it would have to be eating.....

Is it still alive?
Yes she is alive and doing a lot better actually swimming upright etc. Still hasn't eaten I've ordered brine shrimp to try and feed her. Although I am seeing more white spots spread from her head to her body. She might be seriously sick and that's what's causing all this.

I guess that is not a symptom of anything specific - redness around the gills can be from disease, or even from the fish's skin becoming pale and showing more of the red gills through the gill covers.

Is there any cure-all treatment I can dip her in? If so what is it and I will try it for a last hope pretty sure she ate but she has not come out she came out once and went back to her hole. @Jay Hemdal

There isn’t an easy “cure all”, but as I had mentioned before, people sometimes try a 5 minute freshwater dip. This will buy some time if it is flukes, but can also be fatal to weak fish. Your fish seems to have edema, that will be made worse by a freshwater dip.

Im not sure if its is edema though figure shed be dead by now and losing weight. She has lost some from not eating. Freshwater dip in case of flukes. How about brook? Shes breathing really rapidly right now because I scraped her area stressed her out but I have a better view of her now.
