Update:
I dosed 15ml of prazipro in sump return section
I dosed 1spoon metro+focus with half a cube of frozen mysis. Big fail.
Tried again with his regular pellets and big fail again. So I dosed for 12 spoons (60g) of metro in sump return section. I only added 10 as I already used 2 with food.

Box says 1-2 soon per 10g and I have around 60-65g I believe.

Update#2:

As soon I dosed médecine and turned flow back on he started diving deep in his corner… he usually stays by surface or top third right next to my overflow in the corner. Right now is practically on the sand right behind the rocks in the same corner, I’ve never seen him there,

I’m worried he’s not going to make it through the night… I hope he does…

What could be the reason for his infection? Would it be something I did? Would putting him through cycling make him get sicks and cause the mucus

Thanks #fishmedics#fishmedics

Update #3: I stayed up until midnight keeping an eye on him but he stay by the sand the whole time. Woke up at 4am and he was back to his usual spot looking in better shape. This morning at 8am he’s still looking better and behaving more normally closer the surface.

Going to double treat and do metroplex and prazi, how much should I do each all day?

Prazi looks pretty straight forward and from what I’m reading from Jay, I should dose wait 10 days and water change + redose after for 3 cycles.

But I don’t know anything about metroplex. Do I do one or two dose? Every day or every other day? For how long? Etc

Thanks!!!

Metroplex is dosed every 48 hours. Seachem says you can go 3 weeks with this, but I always stop after 5 doses - if it isn't working by then, it isn't going to work.

Skip adding Metroplex to the food - if the fish aren't eating well, it just goes to waste, and then, unless you calculate the dose (needs to be 1% by weight) you won't be doing any good with it anyway.

Thanks @Jay Hemdal !

Update, tried some bloodworms for lunch and still didn’t want any. He seems to have gotten back to his lower corner.
I’ve aimed all 3 of my powerheads/wave makers to the surface and moved them high for stronger agitation and I added a long air stone to help with oxygenation.

How long can he go without eating like that #fis#fishmedicshanks again!

Most healthy fish can go a week, or even two with no food, they often go that long going through the supply chain. The real issue is can the reason the fish has stopped eating be resolved? If the fish is already in a weakened state due to that issue, the time without food will of course be shorter.

Update #5: big changes today.
So, last night I went to get some more metroplex, in the process of talking with my lfs I was discussing my next step and how to quarantine my next fish (a second clown of course). My qt not being cycle I just thought that since I just started treating the dt I might as well bring the new clown from the same lfs in and go through the prazi/metro while I’m at it instead of waiting.
I was also secretly hoping having a friend would cheer up my guy a bit (not assuming gender..) and maybe he would sympathy/mimic feed if he sees the other go for it.
So last night I slowly introduced them together after a bit over an hour of acclimatation in dark and a second hour in the dark then very very soft light until lights cycle end. They got along right away and he kinda came out of his little hole on the sand.
Today he’s been a lot more active, they are glued together and are now staying the whole day in the middle of the tank by the aquascape which he never goes to usually.
Dinner time; I tried yet a new food, frozen mysis with no spirulina this time, I was told maybe it threw him off last night cause it’s kind a like an algae?? More for tangs and such but so I tried it and to my surprised he ate a couple! He tried to eat a 3rd big piece a few times but kept spiting it out, maybe too big.. but he had a lot more food around he didn’t touch. The second clown did not eat today but ate a bit last night so I’m not too worried yet. Now I could always be wrong and have them mixed up but I purposely got the smallest one to identify them and I believe the newest one is slightly smaller.
Finally to my surprised I noticed some orange rusty spots on my sand.. then my rocks.. then my glass!! Did a bit of research and seems to be diatoms I guess? I’ll put some pics to be safe. But anyway, hope we have more good news tomorrow, dosing the metroplex again today for dose #2.
About 6#2.0g of water. At 1-2 scoops per 10g that would be 7-14 scoops. I did 12 the first time. Should I change dosage as I go ? Go on lower end or higher end? I read you can overdose metroplex..
also is the dose every other day adding up over the course of the weeks or is it like Prazy where it’s gone in 24-48h and you redose every week?

Thanks #fishmedics an#fishmedicseef2reef#Reef2Reef
