Cleanliness next to Godliness ? Really?

Why do I have the best polyp extensions and the prettiest most colorful corals when my aquarium is at its dirtiest. Well I usually keep a crystal clear tank. I have been over feeding in order to establish my biopellets. My corals look so good but my tank needs a siphon.

My theory about that is that the corals love the amount of food in the tank, they just can't sustain it, once that stuff starts to break down into the trates and phates, they are going to turn brown etc. In an enclosed system that is what we have to deal with. If you could keep that amount of food/nutrients in the tank at all times our corals would grow and be happier than ever, but that's just not possible when you compare even 300 gallons to millions and millions in the ocean.
