The quintessential summer blockbuster movie. It's got everything. Matter of fact, I have the Bluray. I need to rewatch it soon. Always good to have physical media of your favorite movies around for a few reason, first and foremost the better movie quality. I don't care how good your internet is, there's no such thing as streaming that's better than a physical copy. It's just too much data.

Also, I didn't realize until recently, but the scary scene the old guy is describing on the ship when they're drunk is from the USS Indianapolis that was sunk by a Japanese submarine in WWII. The survivors were just floating around for days as the sharks would eat them alive one by one.

I started collecting them for holiday movies that we watch every year. Made sense to buy it instead of renting the same stuff every year for 3-5$ a pop, then it just kept going to other movies that I revisit every couple years.

That’s what we started doing for my son, didn’t even think about doing it for the movies I like! That kid must have 40 Disney movies plus all the MCU movies lol I WAS able to get all the spiderman movies (even the new ones) for like $25 at Walmart Spider-Man is my *******
