how big is your engineer? I love mine. He is def not captive bred, huge - pocked up lol - and has one eye that is super bubbly. But he adapted to eat pellets then frozen food. I now have him in a bare bottom tank and he is loving it. Being social with known fish (cinnamon clown and powder blue tang GANG lol). No judging, just curious how yours is annoying you. I love mine so much now that he's domesticated that I would never trade him. Removing the sand didn't hurt him after he's already been begging and eating general tank feed so now he is literally not pain at all.

2019 IG video lol

Cheers!
Mine was tiny when I got him, 4”. He’s now 8”+ He’s really shy still and annoys me because he buries my plate coral all the time and it’s starting to lose flesh… However, I won’t get rid of him though. My 7yo loves it and it was a compromise for him to not get an actual eel lol
