Hey everybody, we are interested in knowing whether we're running the appropriate amount of carbon in our 190L (total volume) reef tank, as we've heard a lot about the importance of carbon in reducing 'chemical warfare' between corals. Has anyone experienced this personally? And is the recommended carbon dose that we use from Aquaforest (100mL per 100L tank volume) sufficient? Thanks a lot!

Slow and steady wins the race!
Activated carbon is very effective at removing potentially harmful substances produced by corals engaging in chemical warfare.. follow manufacturers recommendations for amount to use and change it out frequently.

Protein molecules produced by corals that engage in chemical warfare are quite complex and very large and hence likely to be grabbed by efficient chemical or highly efficient filtration like high quality AC, chemipure, etc.
Problem: media that is good at this likely won't be efficient for long. Unless you want to change pounds of it a week.
