can i use this kind of carbon in reef tank since other brands are much more expensive

For aquarium water? It looks like an RO/DI carbon cartridge, and if so, it will clog very rapidly and be near useless.

I thought he was just using the contents. Maybe a cheap ice maker/refrigerator filter. Hard to believe it's cheaper.
