I’ve got a drilled 60 cube with modular marine 1200 over flow if you happen to be in FL and are interested
I’m looking at the same overflow, what size return did you go with?I’ve got a drilled 60 cube with modular marine 1200 over flow if you happen to be in FL and are interested

I have a Hygger HG-915-6500 running my 60 cube with a modular marine 1200 overflow. The 1200 overflow can handle 100% of the flow from this pump with my plumbing (everything is 3/4” pvc and I have a bean animal). However, I am having issues with the overflow not skimming the surface. If I run the pump at anything over 60% the weir is not skimming the surface. The pump is nearly silent, and the overflow is also nearly silent running at 100%! I want to run it at full capacity! Having the flow restricted by the weir not wanting to skim the surface is very disappointing. This is the first time that I have used a bean animal set up. It may have more to do with that then the modular Marine 1200 itself. The ability of it to skim the surface has everything to do with how high the water is up on the weir. The more flow I run through it, the higher the water level goes in the DT and prevents the weir from skimming. Unless I’ve made a mistake in the plumbing, I would say do not expect to run anything near 1200 gallons an hour through it and have it skim the surface as well.
