Yeah that red “acro” looking algae is ugly. Yuck! Send it to me so I can do some research on it. Might be new cyano.

New tank will be a stunner mate, looks disgusting now but remember back when you watched your first cycle in the hobby and freaked out lol. Now it's just an annoyance for a while and nothing more. The hobby is more exciting when you're clueless and just trying not to kill stuff.......... the good old days when my LFS wrapped acros in wet newspaper and dropped that in a dry plastic bag for the trip home. :)

You are absolutely right! I am also glad to see you around again. I was talking to a buddy about you the other day and how you had video of acros eating. Do you still have those videos?

Hello Bubba, it's hard to tell from the pics(look great) but how does the SPS health look? I'm following to see how this fast stocking works out for you since you have had so much success before. Are they looking fat and healthy? Just very curious as I had trouble with a dry rock start until about month 8.

Bubba,
Your new tank looks great!!

:)
I absolutely love this tank. That was back in the day where the child in the tank didn’t have to be sold to afford a tank that size. I really hate how expensive this hobby has become since the rich boys showed up.

Looking great Bubba, been a long time, need to come see you for some frags soon.
Thanks! I was thinking about you a couple days ago wondering how your corals were doing.

The original frags I added have been encrusting and look good. The set I added that turned brown when I dipped in melafix (don’t know what happened) have turned green, which I consider a good sign. The last group I added that I dipped in bayer all still look good. I haven’t lost any corals but one and it was one I placed right in front of an mp40. The issue I’m having now is the ugly stage and the algae is growing on the plugs. I added 6 yellow tangs today so hopefully that issue will be gone soon.

Beautiful Bubba!!! Tangs look so awesome in numbers! Hopefully they do their job for you, but if not they still look cool! I may have missed it, but what's your snail/crab population looking like?

Tank is an absolute stunner! Congrats on the upgrade!

Thanks!

No crabs but I am a big believer in having snails help with any algae issue and not resorting to stripping the tank of nutrients. I have about 15 of the large turbo snails in the tank but they are choosy where they clean. It’s mainly the rocks in the middle and the bottom pvc board.

Here is the pvc board and you can see where they always clean it.
