Sorry mate but i lost a lot of old pics and vids on a hard drive that died so i no longer have the macro acro feeding vids.
I love the school of yellow tangs. I added two and one tried to kill the smaller one after a week together. He was so badly cut and bitten i just scooped him out without a chase. He's all better now and living in the frag tank.

I got a pink cadillac frag that fell off the back of a jumbo jet........;)

Looking great.
Are all the other tanks emptied and all corals in this big one now?
No, my colonies are still in my old display as it’s going to be a pain to cut them off the rock. To do it I’m gonna have to take the rock out and I’m not really wanting to disturb that tank too much yet. I also have one lowboy frag tank still full and another have filled.

Nice! No 4 month BRS/WWC wait time for you! Lol, I'm impressed you're already seeing coraline algae though. I'm very curious to see if you get a strong case of the uglies or not.
I think the worst is behind me. About 10 days ago I had a nasty dino outbreak but I did my normal peroxide dosing as I didn’t want it to take over everything and now it’s gone.

I’m not sure why brs/wwc wait the four months as brs’s new tank went through the uglies when they turned the lights on at 4 months. Seems like to me I’d just want to get it over with as soon as possible. Four months into my tank I imagine I’ll have coraline everywhere.

Probably. My frag system had been running as an empty quarantine tank for months with nothing in it except some live rock in the sump. Then I added a second frag tank and a bunch of tiles and I instantly went through a cycle. Within about 4 weeks all the dino had disappeared and it's now completely covered with coraline.

Hey Bubba what is the ratio of hydrogen peroxide that you dose?

Hey Bubba what is the ratio of hydrogen peroxide that you dose?
1ml per 10 gallons. I normally dose it once a day about an hour after the lights go out but this time I was dosing it every 12 hrs.

Awesome thanks. I have been trying to use HP to get rid of my Bryopsis and have been injecting it locally to patches of bryopsis daily. I was wanting to see what the safe dose would be. I will try dosing every 12 hours to see if that helps.

Tank is one month old so I figured I would do an update on the corals I added on day one. Tank is going through the algae phase so that is expected but the corals have encrusted and have not paled out.
Right now I am feeding the tank roughly 3 times a day. Ph is much lower than I would like but I am going to connect a co2 scrubber tonight.

Was added on day 1 but didn't take a pic until about 10 days in.

Have you been using a co2 scrubber on your other tanks or is this something you are trying now on the new one? I ordered one last week that is due for delivery tomorrow since I saw the BRS videos about ph. Then we went on vacation and my PH went up by .3-.35 with us not in the house so I am pretty confident I will see a result with it on.

Yes I’ve used a co2 scrubber on my other tanks for a while now. I also use kalk as I try and get my ph as high as possible. I have learned ph matters when it comes to how fast your corals grow so I like it high.

Things look great Bubba!
Thanks Bill.

Hey @bubbaque did you use hydrogen peroxide straight on the sps tank? Have some dinos stating and what to stop ut before it spread.
Yep I dose it right into the display. Some people don’t have it work for them but it always has for me. Don’t expect results until 5-10 days into dosing.

Hi Bubba,
What percentage of peroxide do you use at 1ml per 10gallons? Is the the regular 3%, or a special higher concentration?

Thanks! Great thread!
Just the regular 3%. Go buy a new bottle though instead of using one that’s been sitting around for years.

What do you keep your ph at? Wonder how high high is.

Corey
I try to have it hit 8. 35 - 8.4 but it's been lower the past few weeks as I have made a lot of changes to the system.

What does your tank typically drop to at night

I hit 8.35-8.4 during the day then drop to 8.15-8.2 at night. I’ve considered more kalk at night but I’m not sure if that swing is really a bad thing
