I treated my tank last week Thursday at a rate of 5mg/gallon. I had some product on hand but not enough for the full rate treatment. Today my bryopsis is essentially gone on my 300 gal system. AMAZING. Looks like the lower limit of the dose could be explored.
Good stuff here, could save reefers some money!

I would continue using the suggested ammount until proper controlled research has been done to determine lower level of treatment. @twilliard cough, cough. We worry about the creating a resistant species. Is this what happened with the high Mg treatments?
You know what, i was thinking about something like this but the more i got into it, its very unlikely this would happen. I guess yea in a way its possible. Maybe in the ocean, if bryopsis was getting treatment constantly, without a doubt theyll be a resistant strain. Odds are almost near none with the aquarium treatment. Who knows, cool topic though.

Not true. Ive read information that suggests otherwise. The missing ingredient believed to be LiCl. So we moved onto a high MG with LiCl from Kents new company. If he took the recipe you would think this would be it right? No better results. And results were terrible. And I bombed it hard.

I raised my Mg with the Tech M to 2000ppm and it did cut it down, but it came back with a vengeance once I stopped the Tech M. All the Tech M did was kill all my snails.

cool, good news!! was texting a buddy earlier if I should try a half dose for the sake of the hobby, or do full dose and be done with it. Going to do a half dose and see, meds should be here Thursday

Seriously... I ordered 30 pills, just because... and only used 5. I guess I can keep some on hand in case the treatment doesn't work, or isn't permanent.
Well hey! You never know, this potentially can be a protocol treatment in qt, or permnant treatment for the future. I think its a good thing to have on hand

That's good to know. I thought about trying a lower dosage at first but was scared I wouldn't get the same or fast enough results. Hopefully we can also see some tests of people treating in increments of the recommended or smaller dosage amounts.
Glad it was successful for you.

At 5 mg/ gallon and 300 gallons that was 1500mgs or 10 - 150 mg pills. Very unlikely to create resistance to an anti fungal. As a veterinarian I work with meds and resistance daily. I kept UV, lights and skimmer on but carbon OFF.

The bryopsis is pretty much dead in most of the spots throughout most of the tanks. It's just holding on by strands. The lower light areas seems like they are a day or 2 behind from day to day when it comes to dying. I expect by this weekend both tanks will close to being bryopsis free. I'm very tempted to start pulling what I can get to out by hand to help things out.
Not sure if my bubble algae is dying or still in the same state it was since starting treatment. Chaeto in both tanks seems to be fine at 5 days in.

This looks great. Has anybody tried it in a tank with anemones? Have a big hair algae problem in my carpet anemone tank.
