Here is my aquascape for tank 4.0 - I've downsized to a reefer 170 and really wanted to maximize surface area for coral placement. I don't know if this will be the final iteration but.. critiques

If you could get some holes thru our rock work that will help with the flow of water in the tank. An your fish will love it.

There are a ton of holes and arches.. that pic just doesn't show it well.. they are not just flat stacked on top of one another. I'm used to having about a foot more width to play with.. I'm going for the look that I would often see while diving in Roatan.. A mini reef on the sandy bottom just crammed with life.

Rex , that's a tough one to choose . The first one looks good right off the bat , but the second one has a chance to look amazing when covered with coral . Im thinking its a toss up!

Does anyone else plan out the aqua scales in advance? I even draw in what corals I want to place and where lol. This is a roach scape I’m in the process of curing in the garage for a 187 gallon build tank dims are 60x36x20

I do appreciate the clean, few islands look, think that looks great in a magazine or to promote a Red Sea tank. However in person I like a very busy scape, caves and arches all over, something that keeps the eyes very occupied. That’s the look I went for, busy yet open and planned out.

May be coming back here for some ideas when redoing my aquascape since I now need to let my tank go fallow and I have a gobie that NEVER comes out from under the base rock. I thought he was dead for about a month and started watching for an ammonia spike, but every now and then I see his eyes under there. Gonna have to pull all my rock to get him out.
