I would be lost without this forum. I'm new and really starting to enjoy this hobby. Please take a look at my JBJ 45 picture with my fathead in the background. It's a newly cycled tank and have a few questions for advice.
  • Is the aquascape sufficient?
  • Powerheads face each other in the front. Is there a better way for LPS and soft?
  • Return flare duck nozzle direction?
  • Installing a Tunze 9004 DC. Where's best placement in the back chamber? Take out a sock?
  • Does using then just one sock filter lose any performance?
  • Can put heater in the back chamber and where?
  • Have this Zetlight UFO 90w. I have another 90w. Can I install the second? Or, recommend a different light?

If anyone knows where to find easy setup instructions for the Zetlight, let me know. They are a PIA. Your help is always appreciated. Thanks.

Aquascape does not matter. Just make it to your liking. As long as your somewhere in the lines of 0.8- 1lb rock to 1gal water rule your fine. Just personal preference at that point. Power heads don’t matter maybe move them down a tiny bit so the water does not whirlpool. Nozzles don’t matter either as long as they aren’t directly blowing in a coral. Personally I think skimmers are pointless for nanos. You still need some sort of particulate filtration so I wouldn’t remove the sock. In my opinion if there is no room for the tunze then there is no room. Heater anywhere in back chamber as long as the water level does not fluctuate and expose the water to air. 1 light should suffice unless you plan on doing harder light corals in the future
