He came by work today and randomly hugged me. Lol. They already moved it into their house last night and put it in the corner they were dreaming of putting a tank. It fits perfectly!
That is fantastic. What are the odds you would give a tank to a plumber? LOL

I had never considered styrofoam honestly. Not sure which of the two is “better.” Seems larger, custom vendors recommend the styrofoam. Most smaller mass produced tanks I have researched opt for yoga mat. Perhaps the mats are fine for smaller tanks.
I'm sure it has to do with the amount of compression.

Ok what about the styrofoam insulation? It seems to me it disperses weight better and it’s a go to for fish boxes by betta breeders due to the cost and ease of cutting.

Are you referring to Ridgid foam insulation? Typically Pink or Blue sheets of compressed foam. My guess is these sheets have VERY little give in them and will transfer some subtle stand imperfections onto the bottom of the tank itself over time.

Yes exactly what I was talking about. Hmm I recall it’s about the same give, just doesn’t come off in the little styro bubbles. But you’re probably correct and it is too compressed.

The reason it doesn't come off in those styro bubbles is because it's much more compressed already, those bubbles and tiny gap between them is what makes that basic white styrofoam better.

Oh yeah. He was up most of the night with it. Lol
That is great. You must share pictures of it set up one day. You are right. It feels like we all made two tanks happen.

Expanded is what they recommend (White little ball type styrofoam), Extruded is the Blue/Pink Rigid foam we were talking about earlier :)
Ah going all scientific terminology I see. :p
