A rimless tank could come apart at the seamsWhat happens if you don’t put a mat under a tank?
Definitely knows her stuff! She plays dumb, but she is really one of the smartest reefers I know.
Ok. I’ll have to do some reading to see how that happens. Is this still a concern with small rimless tanks?A rimless tank could come apart at the seams

Yoga mat, cut to fit under the tank. Always, always, ALWAYS use one on a rimless tank. No matter the size.Ok. I’ll have to do some reading to see how that happens. Is this still a concern with small rimless tanks?

Stand warped... 40 gallons of water in my living room. Heart pine floor all but ruined. Had to rent a sander and refinish the floor. It still isnt right in that spot. The same would happen without a mat.Well don’t hold back, give it to him straight ;Hilarious
I want to be honest.Well don’t hold back, give it to him straight ;Hilarious

@TheShrimpNibbler I'm at work. Sorry for being abrupt.
MIne is sitting on a 1/2" rubber stall mat. I just can't get our old LFS display tank out on my mind. They had styrofoam under theirs, but most of the weight was at the back of the tank. Over a couple of year's time, the tank ended up leaning backward as it sunk into the styrofoam. Very noticeable too. So when I saw SPSPirate use the stall mat from Farm Supply on his 150, that is what I went with as well.
Glass Cages is the same.Interesting outcome, I guess it's something to think about then when setting a tank up to begin with is how well evenly distributed the weight is. Different materials will certainly handle uneven weight better than styrofoam will.
I do know that using anything other than styrofoam under Miracles tanks will immediately void the warranty so there must be something to it I'm missing...
