I did have, some green dragon bn plecos. The females don’t get the bristles like the males do. Although they all have them in their gills. They puff them out when mad and it’s adorable.

Did you know that you can hold a pleco by their noses and that’s also one of the easiest ways to ahem? Males will have a more tender soft snoot and females will have a harder one. It’s quite cool and believe it or not they won’t flip out. I catch my fish by hand and even did the plecos. It’s easier to move them.

I have a 10 year old pleco. We call him Algenon. He only eats algae if it's in wafer form.
I’ve got 2 pictus cats in there too, and an upside down cat as well. Lots of competition for the algae, I do not scrape the glass ever. The scrubber just sits there on the side for some extra cover, the fattest barb likes that corner the best.

These aren’t mine but to show what I mean. It’s easier on them cause their fins get stuck in nets. This way you don’t hurt them and they don’t hurt you. I trained mine to come up to me by hand feeding.

Already done and done. This is the exact same pattern that occurred with the other pump before it died for good. My reef was fine, I just took some water out, so the water level in the back was where it’s supposed to be for filtration purposes. Apparently 9x turnover is enough...my Goni was actually happier with the lower flow! Took forever to get it to fully open again after the new pump went online, it is such a finicky beast.

@living_tribunal you read that last part right ;)

Oh what’s that goni? Ya, Magellan doesn’t speak coral.

He says screw yourself magellan
