unless the salt mix is significantly higher than your target Ca, or you are doing 100% water changes, the Ca drops over time no matter what. And it only drops faster as your corals/coralline grow. plus, dosing the Dkh lowers Ca for some reason I can’t explain, but accept as truth. Vice versa if you dose Ca without dosing alk.Depends on size of you WC and the regularity you do them.
Nothing. I'm not concerned. What are you going to do about the window being so close to the tank
Yes part one is alk and part 2 is calcium. It's tech a 3 part because of the mag. But that is not used in the same proportion. The mag doesn't need to be dosed as frequentlyIs part 1 the alk and part 2 the calcium? If so, that doesn’t sound like equal parts to me if you’re is that concentrated
Exactly what is killing my alk and calcium.unless the salt mix is significantly higher than your target Ca, or you are doing 100% water changes, the Ca drops over time no matter what. @living_tribunal I think your large amount of coralline is acting as a huge consumer of your alk and Ca, you need to figure out how much on a day to day basis. raise by 1 and then test exactly 24 hours later, should give you a good starting point.

That looks like seachem reef builder.
Really good call! That looks like seachem reef builder.
I would look into it but Randy was talking about them not being equal. https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/s...y-alk-calcium-balanced-for-1-1-dosing.352635/Really good call!

The 2 bottles aren’t equal though. It’s just specific to this brand. Part 1 is Ca but it has other stuff too. I would use the dosing calculator for whatever you are mixing, my instructions might not match up with what you’re doing. But if you think about what Kalkwasser is (original 2 part!) it’s equal parts of both I think. Is that the soda ash (or whatever alk substitute) or calcium carbonate? It also doesn’t tell you the breakdown of ml per increase in gal.
I’m reading elsewhere that a 1 to 1 ratio isn’t best.
Not sure how to proceed.
Surely someone here uses recipe 1?

I just know that my tank has quite literally exploded since I started dosing this stuff. I feel like I’ve seen more growth in a couple weeks than in the last couple months, I’m sure mag was low as well.
I wait 30-40 min if you are doing by hand. If you are using a doser I'm not sure but it's in such small amounts I doubt you have to wait a doser. Also, should I dose the alkalinity first in the right hand wave maker and then after five minutes dose calcium into the left hand wave maker?
Or do I need to wait longer?
Hanna should be fine.I feel like I need to contact brs to see if I can trade in this hanna calc checker for Red Sea.
I’m making the assumption that my tank is equL in both nutrients given that’s probably more accurate than leveraging the hanna calc checker but i need to make sure after a few days of dosing.
Hanna should be fine.
