I dose just 2ppm of nitrate and the tank looks like this lol, Duncan still isn’t very happy. I think it’s too much flow. The wilsoni also has a little bit of recession.

Even the dang Kenya tree is limp.

New tanks smh

I think I’m going to try chemi clean given the severity of the outbreak. The only thing I’m worried about is the Duncan. He looks incredibly stressed.

Should I wait a day or start it given how bad it is?

I don't really care for chemiclean. It works, but I don't like what it does to the tank. Do you have a sump on that frag tank? Any rock in there? I'd try to manual remove it in a small water change, should go away with a few of those.

I don’t have a sump. I do have some rock.

The one drawback of the 10g is its impossible to clean without ticking everyone off. I just did a water change a day ago. Every time I do water changes it gets worse.

This cyano doesn’t seem to be affected by nutrients whatsoever, I’ve had it for months now.

Given how bad it’s affecting the corals at this point I think it’s worth finally removing.

I’m interested in chemi clean but am curious if it removes nutrients. If so, then I might have to think of an alternative.

It chemically disintegrates the cyanobacteria. Need to oxygenate the tank while treating. Do you have a HOB skimmer?

Do you think this is enough oxygenation? I took the other pump offline as I think the flow was wayyy too intense in there and don’t have space to move the Duncan down to the lower rows.

Since taking the other pump offline, the Duncan has opened up slightly.

Air stone. You said you have a HOB filter? Stick it in there. Tank will be cloudy but that's actually a good thing.... look up microbubbling.

I’m just happy this guy has opened up again. It had to have been too intense of flow.

I think the two koralias will be great for the 25, it was a little difficult in the 10.

If someone offered a 75gph pump I would buy it.

It’s the poor scolys first day here and he gets a crap tank! Poor guy lol

I think this will be more than enough, thousands of micro bubbles.

Side note: the trachy is loving the display, a hermit has decided to make her body a home though!

I do have an air pump right next to the frag tank that’s running the sponge filter. I don’t have another sponge filter to connect the airline tube to though.

Is there something I could do with just the airline tube

Is there a setup I can do with just airline tube @JoshH @Robin Haselden
Whoa! 13?

I didn’t either until last night. The 2 part has mag in it, today my zoas were larger and more colorful than they have ever been, and I had the longest polyp extension on my sps that I have seen at any point. Just curious..it wasn’t something I had ever worried about before, or thought I needed to.

this product worked as advertised. Used it a couple times several months ago, my tank was completely fine and it destroyed the cyano.

I think this and chemi clean do the same thing.

I just need to know if I can use this airstone without a sponge filter or something to connect it to if anyone is willing to help

It would be nice to return the pump to its normal position and use this air pump somehow.

I’m fairly certain it does, just have never used chemi clean and wouldn’t recommend something that serious without experience.

for your air pump: it seems logical that you could just plug the end of the hose, then poke tiny holes in the hose. To get more diffusion you could even put it inside a bowl or cup with small rocks inside.

to be safe, you need this tiny 98 cent part, a 1 way check valve so water doesn’t come back through the hose. Could probably use it temporarily without one though.

I have one of those! And a splitter. My only concern is to make sure not to contaminate my fishes qt with coral tank water or vise versa.

I also have a little powerhead with one of those long cylinder heads that have a bunch of holes in it that creates a ton of bubbles.
