I love this post!! “controversy” now means at least one person sent out an angry tweet.

At some point, “being offended” gave the offended person power. Which is an offensive concept! If you don’t like a commercial, turn off your tv...Don’t like someone else’s opinion? Don’t listen to them. Don’t agree with someone else’s lifestyle? Worry about your own.

Unfortunately we live in a world full of pansies (Not the flower). Everyone these days gets offended at the drop of a hat and the world is ending until someone does something about it.

What flow do you have coming out? Seems those RFGs like around 6-900 GPH depend on the size of them
2x returns rated at about 252gph each. Way to weak individually for RFGs to be effective, at least that was my conclusion when I looked into it. My LFS carries them, but is also honest and told me not to buy.

Yeah that's WELL below most of the RFGs I wouldn't do it either..

I'm spoiled have been running vortech mp 10 since day 1
Nice!! How big is your tank? For my little fishbowl, I wish I could get a slightly weaker flow, which is why I was looking at RFGs in the first place! I’ve got my SPS up top anyway, they are fine. Everything else is happier with much less.

I think most of that depends on the previous owner and how they cared for said tank while wet and dry.

And how old it is.

It’s like buying a used piano: if you know how to look, you’ll probably score a deal.

If you’re an idiot like me, you have a lot of work in front of you.

Building that tank nearly made me quit the hobby

I need to like color mark my pumps with my tank and take a bunch of pics so I can always get it lined up right again.

Flow is the one thing that drives me absolute bonkers! Makes me never want to clean my pumps.

This is actually another huge advantage of closed loops I hadn't even thought about. Once you get the outlets exactly the way you want them. You never have to touch them ever again... unless you're adjusting for coral growth changes.

People overlook closed loops too often in my opinion. There is very little maintenance if setup properly.

It was getting so late and I couldn’t get it right so I just set the back left pump to heavy waves at low speed and the front right to else which is dang powerful, like 2,250 bursts.

I love these ow25 just wish you could toggle the power of else mode.

We’ll see how everything looks when I get home. I think I need to redo flow to hit the rocks harder for detritus. Ever since I started over feeding, a bunch of food is staying on the rocks.

I have a 40b with an mp10 and mp40 now.
Going to use that nutrient transport mode to whip up as much cyano and detritus I can for my WC today.
Kinda excited to see how well it works.

I wanna get a pair of the ow or sow jebaos on my office tank.

This was my main draw to them, even now with dual pumps that I plan on my setup. Return pumps require much less maintenance than powerheads and they are also much easier to take apart, less parts, less scrubbing the list goes on and on...
