Oh god no! It's all gonna die! AbortAbort!
Nah I'm just kidding. This was a fun thread to read.
My older son loves our empty tank, we started with all dry rock and sand so it'll be another week at least till we can buy living things. He misses the fish we used to have, funny he even remembers cause that was a few years ago and he's only six! I know you got a bunch of recommendations for starter corals already but, when I had a biocube 14, the older kind with power compact lamps, I had some cheap favia and acans that were just fine in that low light. Anyway, have fun and don't stress out over it, it's easier than reading about it makes it sound.

Maybe sexy shrimp are not the best choice...read they eat coral. Is there a better reef safe shrimp that won't eat tiny fish?

Derby has been active and not a bit shy. I sure hope he remains healthy/happy. He was being stalked at the lfs by a very large hermit crab. At least here he is safe from predators.

72+ hours and Derby is alive and well. Along with a hammer coral. Still trying to find the right spot for the hammer. So far ( thank God) no losses in the tank of any kind. Oops, there was that one little starfish that had to go. I still kinda feel bad about that. Maybe in the future we can have a bad guy tank so they get a home too.

Anyone have any creative planting ideas for a tiny tank? We get our first zoas today. I'd like to plant in shells too. Seabed space is limited in an 8 gallon is limited. We have one Jenny Craig hermit that knocks our frags over.
