After this whole fiasco is over, I should keep this tank (sans rocks) for QT or make this a FOWRL? It ain’t bad but I don’t want to have 4 tanks in the fish room though. It’s too much work to keep 175g going tbh.

What do you guys think?

My original plan was to give away the 175g and use the 360g as a fowrl but discovered that my divorce might cost me a few dollars more. Being a frugal-kinda guy, I’ll need to shut all these tanks down.

There is a 25g IM frag tank next to the 175g. Perhaps I’ll use it to QT and do TTM in the future. It has all the plumbing, heating, lighting, etc and a perfect size for QT.

Sorry to hear about your situation. It can't be easy.:(

I bought these Seachem ammonia badges — they are slightly off from the Hanna but close enough I guess.

Flow help - even with 2 MP60s in the back wall and dual Gyres on each side of the 8’ tank, I’m still not getting enough flow!

So… should I:
1. Get a HELOC and buy 2 Abyzz Flow Cannons
2. Add 2 more MP60s
3. Add 2 Tunze 6255 + Sea Sweeps (since I already have them)

???

MP60s are cool with a clean look but suspect that they are still directional and cannot get to all areas within the tank. I like the sea sweeps but ugly (too bulky) tbh.

The AFC150 is very cool but not financially responsible.

Grey Goose swimming in the reef! Well — I don’t drink vodka anymore (actually hated it) so why not dose my tank? NO3 is at 30 so figure to bring it down to 5’ish. I’ve set the Versa to dose 15mL/day at 10am so will see how things go in a few weeks.

In other news — I think that my army of Turbo & Margarita snails will starve to death soon since half the tank is clean of algae now! ;)

Should I go to 2ppt or 1.75ppt is good enough? I have 4 wrasses so don’t want to go to 2’ish for long.
Remind me which copper brand you are using? I thought you were using Copper Power. You need to get to 2.2-2.3 with Copper Power to be therapeutic level. Many people target 2.5 so it doesn't drop below the therapeutic level.

I'm looking at this guide and it's nice to see fish compatibility with QT methods.

Wrasse is a little tougher with copper, but the only thing safer is TTM which you need 2 tanks and 2 sets of everything.

I’m using Copper Power.
1.79 on the 175g (tangs, wrasses, angels)
2.43 on the 20g (angels, clownfish)

The fish are risking their lives everyday with these giant underwater flytraps! Haddonis are mesmerizing, but deadly. I’ve put a night light directly above the tank so fish won’t run into them at night.
Have you ever lost a fish to them? I would be too nervous to add one

Edited I saw the post about the fox face :)

I have 3 Haddoni's, 4 Colorado's, and 2 Chicago's. I'm a sucker for carpet nems! I've been on a quest for the last 2 years to add Gigantea's to the tank - I think I've finally found a place to source them locally. Understand that gigs don't do well due to shipping and Cipro treatment is a must!

Where do you source your fish from?
I've sourced them from Harry's Marine Life, other distributors, and hobbyists locally. I prefer the latter since these fish tend to be hardier; but regardless, I QT all fish now that I've been through a nasty velvet outbreak. I've met some cool reefers as well -- finally met @Lbrdsoxfan and bought all his fish during a tank tear-down.
