Are you observing or proactively treating?
Both. The first 20g is for observing with around 1ppt copper. The big QT tank (175g) is the treatment tank at 1.75ppt copper. I’ll move the fish from 1 to 1.75 once they’re good. Next week, I will do a WC to throttle down to 1.5ppt and finally another WC to get down to 1ppt when done.

Once done - just wait for the DT to finish fallow.

What do you think?

Your strategy is solid and should be effective in managing parasites while minimizing stress. By gradually acclimating the fish to different copper levels, maintaining stable water quality, and including an observation phase at reduced copper, you’re giving your fish the best chance to thrive before they move into the display tank. Keep up the good work

Should I go to 2ppt or 1.75ppt is good enough? I have 4 wrasses so don’t want to go to 2’ish for long.
1.75 ppt is usually effective for most parasites, especially if maintained consistently. Going higher might increase the risk of stress or copper toxicity, particularly for wrasses and other sensitive species.
Since copper is cumulative in its effect, keeping the fish at 1.75 ppt for the full treatment period (typically 14-21 days) should be sufficient, provided that levels are stable and monitored.

I’ve added 30 turbo snails and they’re going to town with mowing down the uglies! Some rocks are squeaky clean now. Love it!

Some areas near the torches still got cyano but I’m confident things will be better next week.

How are the wrasses holding up, in fact how's all the kick off fish you got from me?
Everyone is doing great. However, the Melanurus jumped out of the frag tank but glad I was around and rescued him. He’s been released to the big QT with a lid so hope this will work.

Crazy the Mel jumped, he's usually one of the more tamed wrasses I've had. Glad you were around to get it and keep it alive. How's the beautiful but evil, frag flipping Coris? I miss that fish more than any of them!

Also hoping that lil bit of HLLE on the purple goes away. It always came and went just could never beat it completely. Figured larger surroundings would help!

Gotta keep the name going - Crazy the Mel - lol! The Coris is absolutely stunning & I’ll try to take some pics. It’s kinda hard since the top is covered and I only have one XR30. She is our daughter’s fav fish now!

HLLE on the purple tang is still there. I hope that it will go away when she’s in the 450g with plenty of swimming space and food! Currently everyone is so cramped in the 93g.

Latest param on the 450g with the CaRx running — the effluent & pH inside the CaRx are very steady. I need to dose more Mg since I have a lot of torches in the future.

The fish are risking their lives everyday with these giant underwater flytraps! Haddonis are mesmerizing, but deadly. I’ve put a night light directly above the tank so fish won’t run into them at night.

Are those haddonis really fish munchers. I never had one, but I've seen them catch and munch up a fish Venus fly trap style.

So far — I’ve lost 1 fish to the blue and my Magnificent FF dashed into the green Haddoni - both perished! :( Note to self: never have a FF with Haddonis in the future!

Once the 450g is ready, 2mos from now — all fish will move out except damsels and clowns. I used to have a harem of those baby Storms but relatives came by and thought they were cute. Guess what, those little dudes left in a plastic bag! Now I’m left with 2 — ugh

I've had a few foxfaces and other flavor of rabbits over the years, that whole siganus genre is just a PITA. IME they are bigger spazs then PBT's. Always have to worry about being stung (I have been) and too freaking cryptic for my taste.

The MFF was one of my favs but yes, I’m always scared of getting stung. They are good for algae control though. I still have 2 *** left in QT. One of them almost died due to velvet actually; miraculously he made a 100% recovery.

I’m also a sucker for PBTs but they are such ich magnets! I had a powder brown which I treated for ich THREE (3) times in the old tank but I gave him away after the last treatment. I would love to get a powder blue one of these days. Hopefully I’m better at QT so no more ich going forward?

As of today, fish in QT and frag tank slated for the 450g when fallow is done:

Angels: Emperator, Queen, Regal, Koran, Watanabei, Swallowtail, Lemonpeel
Tangs: Gem, Yellow(2), Purple, Sailfin, Naso, Blue (2)
Misc: Coris, Melanurus, Coral Hogfish (2), Frostbite clownfish(2), file fish, anthias (2)

I need a few more angels to make my life complete again. lol

Morning shot of the QT across the room with 15+ fish. I’ve installed a MP40 last night with a battery backup, wouldn’t want to lose power and don’t have circulation.

These guys will be here for another 2 months.
