Picked up some Chromis today, Although my Petco, Marine life was only 25% off. Maybe I got confused with the 50% off tanks.
Why would you add sand last? I do the sand first and use the plastic bag trick when I add the water.
I know you are adding some live rock, but that new rock is going to be the Oklahoma land grab of pest algae. I am only a week into my 30L and I am going to have to clean the glass tomorrow. ( live rock rubble in the back and a few bigger ones with the new carib sea rock in the display.)
New Tanks... Beautiful for a day than Hell for a couple months...

I added sand last for my 60 so that it buries the bottom rocks, at least partially for stability. If I decide to get a digger like a shrimp goby and even the wrasses that I have already that bury themselves at night they won’t get smooshed by collapsing space. Glass cleaning generally needs to be done anyways, just a fact of keeping a reef(or any tank really). And yes I’d love to keep it all live but having several pounds will be enough for my purposes . I’ll be getting a small cuc package from ReefCleaners fairly soon in any case.

I’m actually a product of the Michigan education system, just dumb. :face-with-tears-of-joy:
My neighbor is from Michigan. Teamsters steward down here for UPS. He and I have a massive tool exchange and he’s good people.

Fun fact: the first time I ever saw snow was in Detroit. I was in my early 20s and had a layover there on my way to Indianapolis, but the flight got cancelled due to weather. This was also the first time I had ever flown (flew once before as a child but just to Lubbock so I didn’t count it). I put all my toiletries in my check in bag, which got lost, and all I had were my glasses and a room near the airport in Detroit. I was walking through the hood at 1-2am trying to find a corner store that sold a tooth brush convinced that I was about to get stabbed and I saw an icicle hanging off the side of the 7/11. It was like something out of Narnia.

Mayo is for corn on the cob. Butter, salt, mayo, tajin, cotija. In that order.
You know, I read that you could use mayo to make grilled cheese, basically any fatty based substance to toast the bread.

It did not turn out well, I did not like it. To each their own I suppose.

Yeah..that was the only thing I could find on it. Everyone said when you get used to it it's a non issue. Then once it's set it set anyways. Looks good in the pics!

Also since I can’t make super lots of RODI. 80% of the initial fill is going to be distilled. Getting it Shipt delivered shortly. Hopefully have the rock and sand in later today.

Detroit has some bad parts. Worse than anything I’ve seen in Texas for sure.

I do get spoiled living next to the ocean. Heading down to get some water now. But I do also make my own water. I built a 8 stage RODI system that would give me 150g+ if I needed it. but it is just really nice to fill a 5 gallon jug in less than 20 mins (temp depending) The NSW near me has a bit of extra things a my mix does not. For eg; it has a some phosphates (There are some natural heat vents nearby that has something to do with it) and no nitrates and on my 40 it seems my phosphates are always low so I can add that without raising nitrates.
I am grateful for where I live and like I said spoiled.
