so I bought this advanced marine kalk stirrer K1 and I’m trying to use it to does 1.7 ml. per minute 24hr. and it seems that it does not want to do this (versa pump). Is there anyone out there doing this with this stirrer or should I just give up trying and go with a different one?

If you're pushing 1.7ml/min or 2448ml/day of RO water into that stirrer over 24 hours, there's no reason why it shouldn't ultimately be flowing out. What exactly is the issue? Do you think it's with the pump or stirrer?

i think it’s the stirrer because I use the same versa pump and it will pump 1.7ml per minute from a bucket with no problem, I’ve been doing this for months now and am trying to get away from mixing kalk every week if I could. seen this stirrer it had good reviews and wen for it.

Is it potentially because you havent broken surface tension yet? It took me an hour or so for the water to rise high enough in the chamber to start flowing out.

Two things you have to be aware of with kalk reactors.

1. The egress tube WILL clog. Put that on your monthly maintenance or run your ATO through the tube
2. DO NOT put the Kalk in same chamber of an optical eye for ATO or it will block the sensor.

I also have the K1 Stirrer and dosing at 1.5ml via Kamoer Pump. The flow will be more consistent once the top of the reactor has a nice, solid precipitation on the top.
Like others mentioned, I would worry about it too much since the overall volume will probably be closed to what you want over 24hr for the 1st few days.

How often do you add kalk? I started with 3/4 of a cup I’m hoping it last a month

I only add 1/4 cup at a time (usually when pH dropped below 12.2). I don't keep track but I usually clean the reactor every other month.

How is the stirrer working out? I'm debating adding one of these to my system, but I can't decide whether it's going to be time consuming from a maintenance standpoint.
