I still think the lamp is great. Just... those thick and flexible cables with the power supply and the WiFi box :-(
I once had the previous version of the lamp and that was a no-go for me. If ATI ever changes that, I'll buy the lamp...

Nice!! What’s those pucks between the anchors? Did you make custom roomlights there too?
Nice catch actually it was just the overhead recessed lighting that was there prior, still works but I don’t use them. I was going to put 2 kessil’s a360’s between the ATI Straton Pro’s 204 but it’s overkill and you do get shimmer with the new Stratons. I definitely like the estimated par value at certain depths below the lights built into the app dependent on where you set the intensity nice add!

It's just an 8020 DIY extruded aluminum mount

Seems easy to make

If you mount it to an adjustable height TV mount, that's behind the tank

You can have the lights move up out of the way, at the press of a button.

I want to see people who have done that. My first mental design used two single motor actuators to raise the mount. But the TV mount is already built

It comes in anodized aluminum color and black anodized. One could get it anodized locally in any color, or DIY that. Or powder coat it white, I would do that

I can share more pics, no problem.

The primary issue that the lights weigh a fair amount. Even an 8020 extrusion will deflect a little so it benefits you to use some 45 degree gussets. The stratons (old and new) come with hanging kits that use M8 threaded hardware. So the trick is to get some M8 set screws, and some M8 T-nuts. You put the T-nut in place in the 80/20, thread in the set screw (buy 5/8" or so length) and then use lockwashers and thread on the pieces from the hanging kit. Then you can loosen, move them, and re-tighten, and the hanging kit lets you adjust height. Mine are mounted pretty high right now, but I can adjust the whole 8020 contraption up and down easily if I want them closer (I likely will when I have coral in there).

The nice thing about 8020 in addition is that the straton cables fit right into the slots of 45 size extrusion, so they are easy to pass down to the electronics below.

With how you have them hung, the lights won't be able to be programmed as "front - Middle - Back" sections. I'm guessing that's not a feature you care about? or was it a sacrifice you were willing to make?

Looks real good. I'm looking at making it a mounted rail like the HMS Double Arm from AI kind of thing. Any reason you didn't go that route?

Instead it would be left to right with a reverse of the sections once you get to the other unit. So instead of front to back out would be left to right.

Hi Wolflare, I owned the previous Straton models too and just found that I didnt really use the front middle back feature as much (current reef is kind of centered in the tank, so not really high on the back and low in front). Also, If I want to make the sunrise on one side of the tank and transition to the other side over the course of the day, that is an option in this mounting arrangement.

Mounted rail would be cool too! I just like the minimalist look of this arrangement, but who knows, maybe i'll tweak it down the road.

Any issues with disco balling now that ATI removed the defuser on these or is the blending decent in tank?
Following, I have the concern with the Pro, I currently run 2 G1 Stratons and the beauty of these lights is the diffuser, excellent spectrum blend.

Just looking for some thoughts on my program.

This is my program. My SPS are all less than a year from frags with about half of them acquired in the last two months…so haven’t had them long enough to know if this will pull good colors or kot

ATI Stratons. Originals, not the new Pro. Three of them over a 6-foot tank. Highest peak is over “SPS” island on the right side of my tank. Lights are mounted about 10 inches off the water.

Lights on at 6:30 am. Ramp up to 9 am. Mid-day peak from 11:30-1. Ramp down from 4 pm to 5:30 when lights off.

Thoughts?

Hi, For a mixed reef tank with the following dimensions (LxWxH) 48.2" x 25.3" x 21.7" which straton pro do you recommend and how many do I need?
