Couldn't agree more, yes chemistry is Paramount.

@Sushitheshiba - I was looking at the Google app store. I have loaded the app, but I haven't used it. It's called ATI Reef tech.

It isn't the spectral graph, I was mistaken. IIf you look at this screenshot, look at the top left corner and right under the ATI logo, you'll see "PAR @ 30CM" etc.

This might just be some starting points for people. I remember seeing an article where a place did PAR measurements and spectrum analysis, but they did it out of the water, in the air. I don't agree with that as the water changes things a lot.

Can't say for certain that's what they used, but they may have performed their own tests. I'm sure they have at some point.

Weird. Mine is missing that on the app AND online

Thank you for everyone’s input in this thread! We constantly learn and if we can learn from someone else’s mistake and save some coral, even better.

Been reefing for over 20 years and still get bit every so often. I recently lost two frags of Sps due to misinterpreting this lights output.

Using an apogee sq-420 for all my lights to dial in par to around 250-300. All my previous lights(Radion G4,G5, Kessil Ap9x etc). I turned down those lights UV to less than 50% so my coral wouldn’t fry .I slowly acclimated the Straton from 60% to 80% which was only for two hours and then 70% for midday before winding down.

I know someone thinking that the straton is overkill for a lagoon 25, but i learned whatever a manufacturer recommends for spread on keeping Sps, I double it. Been very successful with that logic. I double the spread and use a par meter to dial in the intensity.

I hung the Straton around 16 inches above a lagoon 25 so I can work on the tank easily and thought since I used a par meter and the extra height, that turning down the UV shouldn’t matter. IT MATTERS! I couldn’t figure out why my new frags would brown out and lose polyp extension. Talking to hurricane above, he reinforced how many led’s especially UV are in this light and Sps plakativ uses tons of white.

Changed my UV below 50% like all my previous lights and will report back, but I believe that was my problem and expect my frags to color back up. I only noticed polyp retraction when it hit 80%. Hope this helps someone. This….light…is…powerful.

Hi Bee,

No problem! My settings now are for acclimation since I burned and stressed my frags. Once they recover, I will fine tune the profile. The key is turning the UV below 50%. I’m still learning the software, so the way I adjusted each profile was to make a new Sps plakativ and then turn down the UV and save.

@ATI North America It appears the ATI Straton has been discontinued in North American, which is disappointing.

What are my options if a fixture fails outside of the 1-year warranty? I have three fixtures over my tank, so I can't just order another fixture, I would have to order an entirely new lighting solution if I cannot order another Straton or have an existing one repaired. If repairs are offered, how long?

Hello mstgkillr,

ATI Germany launched the Straton Pro which replaced the Straton. However due to supply chain issues, higher costs (due to the war?) they are unable to produce enough Straton Pro units to supply North America. We discontinued the Straton because we could not get them, not for lack of sales.

With that said we continue to have parts and supplies to take care of any warranty or non warranty item. Just like other products we continue to support them for years. For example if you had an original Powermodule hybrid from around 2014,, we still have all the KSQ's, clusters, control boxes etc for these units. There are 4 generations of Powermodule and we have parts for all of them.

I believe Aquacave still has some inventory if you wish to have an extra.

@ATI North America thank you for the detailed response! At least there is some good news with extended support and repairs.

Are the regular Stratons still being produced in Germany? I'm hoping this might lead into the Pros being available in the US at some point.

I'm still second guessing my choice of (3) Stratons for my Red Sea Reefer-S 1000 (82.7'x26.75"x25.6") predominantly SPS (acropora) mixed reef. Mostly, thinking I should have purchased 4 fixtures instead of 3.

After reading every single post of this thread, I found a few custom settings that I really like, and a few SPS tanks that did well... still not fully convinced though.

So, should I get another fixture and continue on?

Which custom settings did you find that you like?

The Straton (non pro) is no longer being produced in Germany. The Straton Pro is only being sold direct to (European) consumer from ATI Germany.

They are still available from Aquacave.com if you wish.

Hey guys,

Can anyone tell me if my colour settings from my ATI Straton are set so well, or if I should turn down the value for different colours?
Thank you very much for your advice.

What are you trying to grow and how large is your tank?

That's a preset you're using. Let me know what corals you're trying to keep.

@Hurricane Aquatics ive got three Stratons over a 6’ 225g system. Mixed reef. One side is all SPS. Other side all LPS.

Running the LPS/SPS preset program now, no edits. Ramps up from 6:30 - 9:30 am. Peak lighting from 9:30 - 4:30 pm. Ramps down until 6:30.

Whatcha think?

Any idea of what the PAR is? What intensity are you running and how high are the Stratons from the top of the water?

Yes, you're time schedule looks fine. I like the Mixed Mode on the Straton (LPS/SPS mode). It's the program I used to run as well. It should serve you well

I’ll measure distance over water tomorrow but I’d guess a good 12 inches. PAR on the SPS side is 200-250. On the LPS side torch island is getting about 150 and sand bed is between 75-100 depending on location.

I have a WiFi issue so can only currently access lights by direct LAN connection so I can’t show the intensities…if memory serves light directly over SPS is at 80%, middle light is at 50%, and left light over touch island is at 40%

Yeah, no worries and no need to go out of your way for PAR. I was getting about 200 to 225 mounted 16 inches from the water using mixed mode at 70%. Your measurements sound about right.

These are the Custom settings I've been running over a year on my 4 ATI Stratons. I'm the 2nd owner of the lights and tank that I bought from the OP of this thread. Here are my settings. Tank is 1 year 4 months old.. The colored dots on the graph match the colors the red arrows are pointing at.

Basically all blue. That's a spectacular tank! Corals get used to a certain spectrum and then it's off to the races as long as the chemistry is kept stable.

It's obvious that it's working very well. Thanks for posting, I enjoyed seeing those pics.

Major bummer on this. IMO there is nothing "pro" about the Straton Pro. I got stratons for evenly distributed spread to mimic T5s, not for higher output and disco lights. The pro model completely contradicts the very thing that makes these lights special. So glad I didn't fall for the marketing gimmick of adding the word "pro" to the end of something. My internal BS alarm went off super loud when, after being sold out since their introduction, they introduce a "pro" model 6 months later that has a bunch of individual diodes with no diffuser. Pretty disappointed in ATI all around here to be honest. I expect more from a storied German company. Ya'll dropped the ball on this one.

In reality, I bet they were surprised at how well received the first model was, hurried to find a cheaper/easier way to produce it, and re-branded it pro. No thanks. The diffusers on the original are too good. I am bummed I won't be able to replace these originals if one goes out. Hopefully none will! I have 6, so a little worried.
