Aptasia or something else. And how bad is it or is this simply harmless?

Is this something to be worried about or harmless. Aptasia or hydroids? Are they both dangerous for fish ? 2C3346FF-1CC9-4CA7-8893-4123CF9EB257.jpegDBF4C028-5014-49FF-B0A9-D6F5F809C62B.jpegAFC66B85-5645-43C7-BED1-050EC6DF677B.jpeg4F9AA39B-BE38-483F-895C-F8BB16A5A667.jpegDBF4C028-5014-49FF-B0A9-D6F5F809C62B.jpeg

Looks like aiptasia. If you only have a couple of them I would irradiate them asap using aiptasia x before they become an issue.
Are you sure it’s aiptasia because it doesn’t look like the majority of the pictures when I look it up. And how do I use aiptasia x

IMHO once you see one guaranteed you're going to have more. I found one on a small piece of rubble that I had some zoas growing on and I was able to split the Rock and get rid of the pest.

3 weeks later at night using a flashlight I found another one and it was actually growing in between the propeller guard on my mp wet side. That one was easy to get rid of but something tells me I probably have some growing in my rockscape where I can't see them.

These are hydroids. They can multiply and survive when food is available to them with brine shrimp being their favorite. You can either direct water flow towards them- not at them to prevent food from reaching them and they'll starve.
Option 2 is apply gel superglue over the top of them and again they will seize and starve and also snip at bottom base and net them and discard

Do hydroids retract into the rock like aptasia?
