I think your right Rob, a big water change should give me a chance to get rid of any toxins and drum up a ton of oxygen....

As far as a generator, I'm not sure that should be something the club should worry about, but it does make perfect sense to talk through a plan on how to help each other in another event.... Maybe just knowing who has such equipment on hand, etc.... Good thoughts!

News is good... The power just came back... They must have been aiming low and shooting high! Temp only got down to 73.3 degrees but I am still a little worried about not having any water movement for the past day and a half. Only time will tell! Thanks for all the prayers and concerns! Hopefully this was just a scare and not too much damage is done....

Awesome News!!! I really look forward to seing you all in person at the meeting. On a completely different topic, get the heck out of those northern states and come back to the south... I have had the pleasure to have to work in Most of the New England states, and I havent lost a thing there. While in the army I trained all over the country, and I keep coming back to TN. That reason is shown in this thread. You neighbors actually care, and help when you need it. I have never seen such in any other place.

We have a thread in the private section with a list of equipment supplies and after I buy a generator I will add it to the list, any member would be welcome to it in a case of emergency ( not to take camping Chriscrna )

I have one with about 50 operational hours on it I'd like to sell. It is too loud for use at the campground which is what I currently need. If there's interest I'll look at it more closely this evening and propose a price. Just PM me would likely be best.

Will it was awhile but power final returned to the house. Here is a review of my week, Monday night power went out, Tuesday pick up what I thought was a decent generator for what I could afford. Got the generator set up and running, we'll Murphy's law strikes again. Right before I go into work it stopped, tried to figure it out but not enough time to spare. Came back after work fiddle with it a little and then gave up. Tuesday night I began heating water and floating mason jars in the tank, also covering it with blankets. I just continued swapping out jars until last night. So far I might have two possible casualties the wannabe bur pee and my bonsai. Everything else is mad , did a small water change. Hopefully I can do a bigger one later, got the skimmer on the wet setting and some of that ammonia pads. Also the lost temp that I saw was 66 that was on Tuesday, heating with jars brought it up to 74, sorry if this is all a jumble but it's been a long week.

It is a Coleman 3750, model number PM0543000.01. Has wheels and handle. Gas tank capacity isn't listed in my literature but I know I was able to run it for about 6-7 hours before refilling the tank when backing up refrigerator, lights, aquarium and a few other small load circuits during outages in the past. Couldn't find exact one for sale but comparable units sell for about $500. I would be willing to do $250.

I've lost 4 corals. Hammer, 2 acros, and 1 of my bird nest. Here are two damaged corals. Any advise for trying to save them?

The candy canes look like they will pull through, I can't tell what the second coral is but it looks like the tissue has gone to brown jelly...if so, there is little to no hope on that one.

Rob right on this one.... I had a lobo do the same thing. heater decided to quit, and like an idiot I didn't have a spare in the sump.... The lobo started stringing this mucous looking stuff, and it literally just disintegrated in front of my eyes, until nothing but the skeleton was left. I would move it to a QT if you have one, if nothing else, to keep all the dead tissue coming off of it out of your main...

I do not have any galaxea, but I have a nice colony of neon grean candy canes I should be able to frag, or better yet, have someone else frag them for me... I have terrible sausage like fingers that are good for a few things, but delicate operations is not one of them...

Did you buy a used generator? Sounds like it was a lot of work to keep the tank running, but it sounds like it was well worth the effort.

That's rough, there's no way I could have made it that long. Good thing you had a generator. Did you run the whole system off the generator, including lights?

Wow.. And here I thought I was the only one sweating it! I'm back home now and looks like I have a couple of casualties but all in all, I made it through I think! God speed to all you out there for a full recovery... ETRC takes it on the chin and keeps on moving! Good job all!
