Nice! Love how it has red stars under blue light

It looks very unusual under blues. Hard to show how it all glows

It’s augophyllum wysorii mate, am just renaming acid rain as it’s a crazy algae [emoji23] not many info out der on it, I don’t think there is many in aquaria also. It does like low 10k light to keep it like this am hoping the white honey combs still develops again to. The pictures don’t do it any justice also under actinic the purple goes into a fluorescent blue and the gold pits into a vivid red. Under whites it’s beautiful to.

I’m pretty sure I gave you the scientific name for it on another thread. Seems like a very slow grower

You did mate, it is very slow compared with other algaes, the whole plant in the pic is just an inch. All grown from that one leaf. It went dull looking wend I place it under T5’s almost a solid red with no pits. But since under the led it’s developing really well in to what we see now in the pics.

Thanks. Yeah, that's what fascinated me about it. Not much more I could find about it, besides that it might live in SW Caribbean. I assume based on its love for 10k light it's a deepwater species.

And another thread about it on the UK-heavy Ultimatereef forum, written by someone with the same avatar named Alfonso. :D :D

Anyway, this is fascinating, thanks for sharing about this macro algae!
