First I want to say this has been an incredible experience and every person in the hobby needs to connect here. In one day I have learned an incredible amount of information concerning setting up a reef tank. I have met a few experts on the subject that have been extremely helpful, Gary, Phillip, and Amanda thank you very much. I am also discovering how complex each step of this process can be. There are so many different ways to do things. I am still trying to figure out how to set up sump. My next question was on water filtration. I have a ROI system in my house and use ROI water for adding for evaporation and water changes on my 210 gal fish tank. On a 90 gal aquarium reef is there a better way to get cleaner filtered water? I have been introduced to a line of reactors and ROI additions. I have a few leads from members looking into a few things for me that is well appriciated. I am really excited to get the tank up and could not have gotten this far without this site. Thanks everyone and I hope to one day be able to help others on the subject. Any addition suggestions would be helpful especially those little secrets and cost savings ideas. Thanks again R2R

ROI or RODI water? RODI, given the filters still work properly, is the best ya can get :) . And I promise, once you get the first tank set up, the process wont seem so complex, and ya will make your own way of doing things.

i'm glad you've found it enjoyable here, brian! we've got a great group of administrator/mods, and an awesome group of reefers!!

it's always nice to find a place that is not condescending towards someone who "just doesn't know." (cuz, that's usually me :p )

I have another question about wave timmers. I heard Red Sea makes a great Wave Pro Master that you can hook your powerheads into. Any advise on wave timers....yes or no? Thanks Brian

In my opinion Wave Timers are not that important. But, good flow is.

you could always run a seperate line to your tank from the ro/di system and use an ATO (making sure to keep things like snails etc out of the ato part) so that whenever the water goes down to a certain level it auto fills :D.

I like wave timers and the randomness of the water.....I guess after awhile it's not so random but I think they do perform a good function....Not sure about the Wave Master Pro but I have thought about buying it plenty of times.....
