Thanks Serkel ...since I'm not a carpenter by any shape or form ..from the start I decided to go with just paint .....it will be easier I hope. I know its all in the prep...I feel some sanding in my future

I have to owe thanks to my Dad for cutting and pocket drilling all my frame....My wife and I moved from Ohio to Florida last year so I don't have the luxury of his woodshop in my backyard anymore. i made a sketch and sent the pic to him. a week later I got the wood and the bill ..$80 it was worth it..LOL

I would happily pay that to have it cut properly. I have to run to my friends shop also to use the table saw. Welcome to Florida. What area are you in? I'm also in Miami.

Since I'm going to be painting this thing and not staining. I'm going to use spackling to fill the voids and grain. I'll skim coat it and sand till I think it's ready for some primer/sealer

The stand is perfect vhot is the size off the wood hi use 1x3 , 1x4 I plan to build similar to 93 cube

BTW pocket drilling is the way to go. I also used glue on all the joints but the straight cutting and the pocket drilling made it really easy to keep this thing square. If this was a bigger tank i would have used 2x4 but I need every inch of space in the bottom of the stand.

Sealed the seams with caulk and Put a coat of primer sealer on the inside

I'm hoping to have the stand done by next weekend and be able to do a water/flow test. I'm going to do a 1"sand bed and still thinking about how I want to do my rock work...not just a pile of rocks or rock mountain

Getting ready to hang the doors. Got them both for $20 from a local cabinet guy that had some left over!!!

Got the doors hung. Now time to get this stand painted and be done with it. I'm really ready to get some water in and cycle it.
