Since i got the tank i have painted the back black with Rustoleum oil base semi-gloss, also since i am going bare bottom i made a white board to go under the tank. When i was trying to hard plumb the tank to the sump i ran into some issues, When the sump was to the very left of the tank the overflow inlets were waaaay to close to the bulk heads so there was no way to hard plumb! I then put the sump to the very right side of the tank and whala, i had enough distance to place my gate valve and get it all hard plumbed. I also have turned the Durso style overflow into a Herbi style by leaving the durso overflow but instead of having my return come in next to it i made that second 1inch hole into an emergency overflow, I routed the return on the back of the aquarium. There is much more work to be done but i will post up some pics of the plumbing i have done and more pics as the build progresses.

Little update, on the 20th i will be ordering 2 Jagger 150watt heaters, 70lbs of reef saver rock and a Jebao dcp 8000 for a return pump. I am going to give the rock a good bleach bath and then after the sun cure and rinse, the rock will go into the tank for a month to start the cycle with no light. i will post up some more picks as progress is made.

Hey guys I just got back from Russia was out there for 3 months, then went to Armenia for 10 days and now I’m back! Time to start getting the tank cycled, picked up 100 pounds of Florida dry rock but could only fit about 80-85 pounds in the DT.
