Welp, came home from lunch and the tides have changed! Now the Swalesi is dominant and has beaten up my Swissguard. I will be transferring the Swissguard to my 14 peninsula tank when I get home from work.

I wish I had been able to have them live together like the ones in Jake Adams video, but sadly I guess it wasn’t in the cards for me.

Shipment from Pacific east aquaculture is here! Got the babiest of baby Canary blenny..she’s SO cute! The orange and purple gorgonians arrived alive, sadly the black one was disintegrated and rancid. 3/4 things alive is still a success.

Huge bummer..woke up to the purple gorgonian melted across half the tank. Had to do a quick water change to siphon the nasty rancid remains out. So now I just have the orange spiny left.

Here’s a pic of the black one that melted in the bag as well as the one this morning.

Also noticed my captive bred canary blenny (named Banana) is blind in his right eye. I just thought it was a little funky when I saw it yesterday when he arrived, but after closer inspection today noticed he’s blind and it’s stuck in the downward position.

Some pics of the inhabitants today! Just fed a healthy helping of frozen mysis. Waiting on my orange lens to come to filter out that blue light on the iPhone.

Changed the light to my trusty spare current USA orbit marine light. The lid grid does not show through the tank with it and I love the spectrum. Corals are acclimating currently.

Tank looking better today, corals still getting used to the new light. Some toadstools still shedding. Tequila sunrise shroom still recovering from my unskilled removal from its previous rock. Weeping willow pretty happy currently! Will wait a bit before getting more gorgonians.

Not sure if I’m updating this too often, but here’s a tank shot from today. Toadstools are finishing their sheds from moving to this tank and all the fish are doing fantastic!

Tank keeps improving day by day! Can’t wait until toadstools grow out. Fish are doing well, even Banana the half blind canary blenny!

My small frag of Yellow Fiji Leather is doing nice and growing a bit as well.

Dealing with some particles in the water at the moment. Added more filter floss and socks to see if that helps. Possible that I’ve been adding too much phytoplankton or that because the tank is new it’s bacteria of some sort. Lots of pods too. Doesn’t seem to be an issue and I’m not too worried! Took some pics of my favorite fish.

Did water testing today and cleaned the glass for the first time. Diatoms blooming a bit, will order some more clean up crew. Hopefully things start to grow and fill in soon!

Was it from a vendor?
I’ve probably purchased 4 or 5 in the past 2 years, as well as 4 or 5 weeping willows, but none seem to be the real deal!
