Here's my reef tank. I'm very new to this. I know I need better lighting but I'm also on a budget. It's a 36 gallon tank with live rock and sand, 3 zoa's, 1 goni, 1 duncan, 1 hammer, 2 acans, and a gsp, 3 peppermint shrimp because I did have aptasia and a mocha clownfish that has a personality of a puppy.
Not a bad start! Is that all the rock you want in there, or will you add more?

Disease & risk management. If I put all the corals and inverts in first, I can wait 75-90 days before adding quarantined fish to help mitigate the risk of ich or worse. Also wish to have a regal angel again. I am hoping a small regal added to a tank full of healthy coral will be less likely to nip/consume coral. Of course I realize fish are like employees, you never know exactly what you will deal with until you've worked with them for awhile! I feed this system 125ml of phyto every night and mix reef roids/goniopower/other coral food + ab+ every other night to help mitigate the lack of fish
@Troylee I welcome your input on my plan, I followed your build long ago before you took an extended leave from the hobby
I wonder how your plan of adding regal angel worked. When I replaced my lights and my leather started to green up with polips extensions my blue hippo of 9 years decided to use it as salad bar and nipped all over it.

Left side mostly LPS. Right side alot more SPS. Love how the left looks, the right is brand new branch rock meant for acros. Gonna be a while before it looks good. Zoas and acros gotta grow out. Tank is 8 months old. Been reading and playing alot with color theory. Moved all my corals around so that opposing colors on the color wheel were next to each other. it made a big difference.
