Program it once and it's done. I mess with my lights everytime we have to use the microwave. I've got the old and new controllers and never have any problems. Haven't tried the WiFi ones yet.

Yeah it’s a small hurdle for sure. I’m definitely of the opinion that lights should be set and forget.

I can't decide between steel or aluminum..both have their faults. Although I'm a carpenter wood does as well.

In all honesty about any reef light can grow coral if your water is right.
