Made a mistake by purchasing a damselfish before i finished purchasing other fishes. It practically killed a new fish that I introduced by constantly chasing it around for a few days. The damselfish is now on deathrow (the sump).

The sump area is probably 9 gallons or so of swim volume for him. He was only a $8 fish so I could give him away or back to the LFS. I was going to set up a 5 gallon pico tank for some softies; would the damselfish be okay as the only fish in there, kind of small in my opinion? Or I could keep him in my sump long term. Last option is the toilet, but I would prefer it if he got a pardon.

What would you do?

Curious - where do the moray eels come in?
Second - the 5 gallon tank seems 'small' for long-term
Third - I would ask the LFS to take it back if possible.
Fourth - if your sump is lit - it could live there.
Fifth - others may want to trade as well.

You can also try putting the damsel in an acclimation box while the other fish can see it - and establish their own territories - but - its possible it will continue to be aggressive. Maybe the time in the sump will cause him to relinquish some territory you can also try re-arranging the rocks)

Also curious - how big is your main tank

Not sure why my thread got merged with this "moray eel" thread, no idea what moray eels even are.

as for the damselfish, its still in the sump, I will probably give it away locally.

I think it got deleted somehow. I saw this earlier and somebody commented to put on live stream and leave them together. It's just an off-color joke I'm pretty sure but I think that caused a mod to delete it.

No idea what you're talking about. Livestream what? Maybe I'm just out of the loop on this one.

Just as the title suggests, two eels fighting, live stream the fight. Stupid. It's not your title so I'm just saying somehow someone deleted the post but yours is in it now.

@noobster - I apologize for the confusion. What was the title and what should it be changed back to?
