Excellent. I'm building a 140g peninsula, hope to keep it as nice and clean as yours is. I've got a closet to put equipment in, so it should look good from the display side, at least :) I also went with 8x T5's.

Keep posting :)

Pic would be tough... tank won't be here for 2 more weeks. I am picking up the stand from the fabricator today, and delivering it to the powder coater. Nothing to photo...

Started making salt water... a lot of salt water.
I also hung the light fixture and made 1 change to the bulb combination. Instead of a Pigment Int+ bulb I added a Wide UV bulb to the equation.
As the water level in the sump is about 29cm I had to raise my skimmer with 7cm. By cutting some acrylic and glueing them this was easily done.
Probes for the GHL Profilux were added. I used a Grotech probe holder just in front of the bubble trap

Nice setup you did a great job!

I too had a noisy overflow had to make the main drain and 2nd stand pipes taller than suggested. This raised the water level in the box and took care of the waterfall noise in the back box.

Look forward to seeing more!

I would have squeezed 1 ati coral plus in there as well ;)
Lol. I will use Pacific Sun bulbs and they do not have actinic available.
Nevertheless, the fixture is dimmable and with the UV I should be able to get the same result.

Salinity and PH were ok this morning so I added the live rocks and sand.
I used the Bermuda Pink from Caribsea and mixed it with some coarser crushed coral.
The sand bed is more or less 2-3 cm high but in the middle there is a 7-9 cm sand bed.
That will function as a deep sand bed for nitrate reduction and will also be useful for the future wrasse.

The scale is more or less minimalistic and will leave sufficient space for fish and later coral to grow.

That's interesting... no daylight bulb? Honestly I have never tried the Pacific Sun bulbs. I also haven't seen them in any local stores for sale and I don't see a lot of comments on them in the forums. So I'm curious about the Pacific Sun brand.

With the peninsula style you have to double the view options and that makes the scaping a little more tricky.
I am fine with it now as it gives good views from all angles and options for the future.

Yes, peninsulas are very easy to put too much rock into them as well. I think you have a nice amount considering once corals grow in it'll be perfect.

I was on my way to get ATI till a new shop opened here who was distributing the PS range.
They were using the bulbs on their coral tank and I liked the view.
PS claim to have a different spectrum from the other brands. Wether it is true or not, I decided to find out and brought the bulbs home.
On their Facebook page I found their recommended bulb combination but preferred to use the UV.

After several days with the light on, I feel too much blue(s).
The combination of Pacific Sun bulbs with 5 pieces of Crystal Blue sems to be too much.
So I have removed 1 Crystal blue and replaced it with an Red Sea Actinic bulb (this to test the combination Actinic and UV, both bulbs are on the same control channel)
As soon as I get my hands on a 54W ATI Coral+, another Crystal Blue will be replaced. Unfortunately these bulbs are not that easy to get.

In worse case, I have invested in some additional LEDS and bought also 2 GHL Mitras Lightbars (Deep Actinic) which have another 7 controllable channels. Together with the controllable Giesemann Matrixx Dimtec, something will be worked out that is good for coral growth and pleasing to the eye.

Yeah I thought that was going to be too much blue :) But, some people like that...

Can you get a hold of the Giesemann D-D Midday T5 or Power Chrome Tropic T5? I am pretty sure those are comparable to the ATI Coral+.
