Finishing up this project before I move to building my stand ..... always roadblocks lol . I’m definitely going with a floating oak shelf for my lights it’s goind to look so fresh and clean clean ! On the placement front we decided to put the aquarium in the basement because of expansion issues it would create to finish out the rest of the basement ..... but just opposite of the left of where the tank would be is my work bench and enough room to put a eight foot wall for my ..... fish room !!!! So excited for that .

Looking forward to seeing progress on this build.

I'm doing something similar with my new build. Fish room in the basement and a 156g SCA display.

TBH, I'm glad you got to move it downstairs on a slab of concrete that could support 15 of your aquarium lol. The post where we talked about joists and support had me stressed out for you LOL

Lol I was like ok time to get well versed in “ structural engineering!!” Man there was just no good place to put it ..... and where you and I had discussed supporting it is where the drain and toilet flange are for finishing out the basement.... so that was a “ NO GO “ lol this way I get a whole fish room ! Going to wall off my workbench area and plum the tank through the wall from the other side .

Started on the stand got the base done , it’s a miracle because I have my 3 year old And ten month old home today . The wall to the left I’m going to run my support tank plumbing through and cut a window in the wall so I can view it through the fish room .
