I was writing a response and had to head out to the store.

I would say stability is the only thing worth chasing. You'll get people saying "x" coral is easy and others saying "x" coral is impossible to grow. Each side having an experience to justify their stance. People that have success long-term focus on consistency of temperature, water, lighting, etc., but might have different ways of doing things (dosing, water changes, refugiums, reactors, etc.).

Keep everything stable and make minor changes over time and you will have an amazing reef tank that will bring you endless joy (with a few headaches along the way

).
